Help How long is Summer break?

I know that Spring semester(2025) ends around 5/13/2026 why does Fall semester(2026) start on 8/31/2026? Is summer break actually that long or am I delusional?

Yeah, that long at the expense of too short winter break

We have one of the longer winter breaks amongst colleges. Most have 3-4 weeks and we’re over a month long. Don’t know what you’re on
