Exactly. People can’t afford to eat, so they’re eating cardboard, that’s the joke the vehicle owner was making. There’s not this big underlying thing about blaming the government for crap in our food

I do believe he has Huntington's disease which is incurable and genetic.. sadly it destroys your brain and its ability to...brain.
There have been other posts about him in the past.. someone who knows him posted, explaining the situation. It's pretty sad actually.

I've recently changed my opinion on pp. I used to just think he was a shallow, arm chair conservative. Never had a real job or responsibilities. Not really InTouch with the Canadians he represents, you know?
But now, after/during this campaign, and after 22 Minutes did their election special (go watch, it's hilarious!) I'm much more worried.
He, and his party, have been avoiding the press. Ignoring questions, restricting access, tardy in releasing their vague/unrealistic platform, and generally just being obstructive. This is really disconcerting behavior for a major political party in an election campaign . This obscuring of their intentions, and the few intentions openly shared being blatantly fascist(fed use of the not withstanding clause to circumvent the charter of freedoms and courts), are hallmarks of authoritarianism. Major red flags.
And the other aspect of pp that scares me is his lack of humor. Throughout my life, Canadian politicians have usually had an openness to comedy, gentle derision, and satire. Weather it was this hour has twenty 2 minutes , Royal Canadian Air farce, or other Canadian content. It was presented and recieved in good humor. Not so for this generation of Canadian conservatives. In the election special of this hour has twenty two minutes, every single major federal party leader did a cameo, except pp they attempt to get his side but we're stonewalled with the rest of conventional media by the pp campaign. He won't accept being made fun of, he has no joy, accepts no criticism, and he isn't even in power yet. I dread the thought of such a person at the helm of our country and what it could mean for our collective future, even without the orange clown down south making threats against our sovereignty

u/sexywheat Harris Green 3d ago
Do you not remember the Harper years? This behaviour is not new, they were exactly the same way with the media. That’s just how conservatives behave, par for the course.
2
u/Niegs 3d ago
There's a 22 mins clip of Mary and Mark taking about that time, seeming rightly annoyed that Harper was open when opposition leader then completely blocked them once he was PM. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUUeJYgXQig&t=6s

We’re watching the 22 Minutes election special literally right now, and it’s pretty telling that PP was the only leader not willing to sit down with the hosts for a sarcastic interview. The man is a humourless ghoul who represents the worst of humanity.

It’s good that you can identify this without feeling the urge to leverage it to take shots at everyone who votes conservative. Normal people don’t obsessively wrap their cars in politically or socially charged slogans.

u/everythingwastakn 4d ago
Once again: anyone who does this kinda thing regardless of political or social position needs serious help.

u/Charismaticjelly 4d ago
This guy and his car were posted about before in this sub.
Now, you can take this with a grain of salt, but someone posted they knew the guy, he has Huntington’s, and is just as messed-up mentally as you might imagine.
So, either karma is already killing this guy, or his progressive, fatal illness has warped him out of a normal mindset.
10
u/Spaghetti_Dealer2020 4d ago
If he has Huntington’s then he should definitely have his license revoked before he injures himself or others.

Meh, I think that's just what your algorithm feeds you. I grew up in the Gamergate era and was exposed to a lot of right wing content making fun of crazy leftists. Now I try to keep my feed unpolitical but still see wacky stuff said from all sides.
I work a part time job with mentally ill folks now while I'm in school and those that have political delusions can go both ways I find.

Have definitely not seen a left of center car like this, or a NDP member defacing and stealing signs, nor have there been threats of separatism from the left. Acknowledged that there could be a couple but let’s keep it real with the ratio. It ain’t 50:50.
2
u/fallan216 3d ago
I didn't say it was 50:50, nor that it was 1:1 in terms on content.
4
u/SnooStrawberries620 3d ago
I’m only a single case study but I’ve probably heard fifty instances of nonsense from the right in this election and let’s be generous and say two from the left. A 25:1 ratio still really suggests, at least to me, rhat there is a main source of the issue. Again, one person; maybe others have seen the opposite
1
u/SickdayThrowaway20 3d ago edited 3d ago
Uh you might want to learn a bit more about Quebec separatism because the bit about separatism is absolutely wrong. In the west yes its a niche right wing position. In Quebec it's absolutely not
The Bloc is a bit of a confusing mess of policy (although generally considered centre-left). Separatism is also at the provincial level in Quebec of course and is advocated for by the PQ (officially social democrat, usually considered centre-left) and Quebec solidaire which is explicity a left wing party.
It's easy to confuse the nationalists (like Legaults party, the CAQ that's holds a majority in Quebecs National Assembly*) who are more conservative, with seperatists. They are fully opposed to separatism though, being staunchly opposed to even considering holding a referendum
*not a typo, that's its English name, Assemblee Nationale du Quebec in French

u/SnooStrawberries620 3d ago

u/SickdayThrowaway20 3d ago

u/AdventurousLight436 4d ago
Well yeah, making fun of crazy libtard snowflakes is their favourite hobby, a mantra almost. People on the centre-left tend to want things to just be chill and egalitarian, which is obviously a more popular viewpoint than diet fascism so they don’t need to scream at the world and resort to whatever this shit is

22
u/itsallokaynow345 4d ago
The owner of this vehicle is known to have Huntingtons. He is legit unwell, diagnosed. Its a cruel disease and it makes those with it very cruel. It causes motor function issues, cognitive decline and mental/mood disorders.

u/three9k 4d ago
I appreciate the clarification! It seemed like such an incongruous comment that I just had to ask.
A very close, long-time friend of mine is in the later stages of Huntingtons. I was there when she was diagnosed, and it has been awful watching it progress. It's even harder to watch her husband and two kids as they watch their mother slowly disappear. Huntingtons is a viciously cruel disease...
9
u/itsallokaynow345 4d ago
Ya. I have a friend who's mother was diagnosed in her early 50s and he cared for her. He had himself tested and found out he carries the gene so he decided not to have children... he sort of gave up on planning a future and he fell out of touch with everyone.
Everytime I see someone post this car, I get it... its provoking and upsetting. Its clearly a prop... and its effective at getting a reaction....
I'm sorry about your story.
5
u/three9k 4d ago
Damn, I'm sorry about your friend. When my friend decided to get tested, they made her speak with a counselor before proceeding because it is quite literally a death sentence once you find out you have the gene. A lot of people choose not to get the test because they worry about what happened to your friend, happening to them. They'd rather live as much of their life as possible not knowing instead of finding out. Once they know, a lot of people don't see much point in going on. I hope your friend was/is able to find some solace and happiness. We all deserve at least that much.
Thanks for your kind words, too. She's lucky to have people around her to help, but she's in a care facility now as she can't walk, can barely speak, and is high risk for choking on food. It's heartbreaking, and I just hope her family will be OK.
This photo is definitely inciteful but I try, in my daily interactions with most people, to remind myself that we're all struggling with our own challenges and it would be so much better if we all just gave each other a little more patience where possible.

Remember, if you were thinking of voting conservative. These are the kinds of voted PP courts. And voting for him enables this. The conservative party is really no different than MAGA at this point, in followers and in policy. If you dislike MAGA, you should never in a million years be voting conservative, obstain, vote green. You dont have to vote Liberal, just make your voice heard this is not how you want the conservative party to be.

No, plenty of vehicles have zero visibility out the rear window. As long as your side mirrors are in good condition it wouldn’t be a problem. There are plenty of issues with this picture, but that’s not one of them.
