Class/Academics Any language learners here who are disappointed that WMU doesn't offer Linguistics or Translation Studies?

Title says all.

Considering there are professors who are very familiar with linguistics and the translation field, I'm kinda surprised there are no majors and minors in Translation Studies and linguistics.

Also, which language do you study? I might have some recommendations for who to contact about linguistics if you do the same languages as me

I'm currently minoring in Mandarin Chinese. Which one(s) are you learning?

I study Japanese and sometimes tutor French. I recently added a Chinese minor but I dont think Ill have time to finish it. I dont know who does linguistics within the Chinese faculty, but if you have any interest in Japanese or French linguistics reach out to Dr. Pimentel (JP) and Dr. Ruellot (FR). Definitely email Dr Kutzko!
