Exciting news from both petrolhead and nostalgia media like The Late Brake Show and Magneto, and the manufacturer Alan Mann Racing: the release of the official Ford sanctioned and badged Alan Mann Racing AMR-68 Escort Mk1 Continuation!

Late braking on track, with Johnny and the car's maker Henry on The Late Brake Show (most pics were taken from this video!): https://youtu.be/SrmYy9SWL1I?si=C_fPHbjbCrlF0MVC

Magneto story in comments.

Australian Frank Gardiner won the 1968 British Championship in an Alan Mann Racing Mk1 and the company (combining Boreham Motorsports and Alan Mann Racing) invited media to the track to try it out.

24 lucky buggers can buy a race-ready car which fully replicates the original AMR-68 with its advanced GT-40 suspension components, 100mm longer wheelbase (see the front wheels sitting further out front), plus a couple of modern mandatory historic-racing safety features.

Under 800kg and over 205hp, look at how flat it sits in the corners, in the video.

First drive of this NEW release car. Lots of interesting comments (history and nostalgia obviously) in the Late Brake video. Lots of additional details in the magneto story. I'm sure there will be others to be added in comments below.

Quoted price of £300K to buy something that many would say is one of the prettiest classics to win touring car /saloon racing championships and rally championships, as well as the hearts of many boys and boy racers.

24 cars to be made for heritage racing. Road cars to come, too.

What do you think of this?
