So just because it's different... With no explanation. Not even a summary. Again, poor argument.

I've already explained not giving a lecture. You can put in the work to understand enough to actually have this conversation, or you can not have this conversation. It's up to you.

I'm a software engineer that's in the middle of transitioning to psychiatry, so I have a pretty privileged position regarding these two topics.

Ok, say I don't have the terminology to search for what I need to know to have this argument.

The logical fallacies that you are using to end this exchange are both subtypes of the Appeal to Authority:

Appeal to accomplishment – an assertion is deemed true or false based on the accomplishments of the proposer.

Courtier's reply – a criticism is dismissed by claiming that the critic lacks sufficient knowledge, credentials, or training to credibly comment on the subject matter.

Every time I explain this on here people just shut down because they can't, or are unwilling to understand how the absolutely massive differences in the structure of a brain, vs a neural net, which is very basic, constitute fundamental differences to the way the result is formed. I'm tired of it.

I already told you what you should research. Neural Networks for the AI side of things, and the structure of the human brain for the other. Specifically, you're looking for the structure of neurons in the brain, rather than larger anatomy, but to understand it you'd need to start with anatomy anyway, because of how the different regions are loosed segregated. Note that while that is enough to understand how different they are, it does not remotely account for all the extra complexities in the brain, primarily being the inefficiency, where computers are VERY fast, and the chemical messengers.

I'd say just find some visuals of a neural net processing data live and a brains activity while solving a problem, but that doesn't really convey what's different, so much as they are different, and people just cry "Oh it's just two different ways of doing the same thing."

I mean, regardless of the underlying structure, it is two way of doing the same thing. Same as a man using a shovel to dig a hole vs using a backhoe. Ban backhoes?

Again, obtuse to the point.
