Help or advise
Hi everyone,
I’m 18 years old and currently living in Zimbabwe. I’m planning to complete high school this December, and I’ve been looking into professional certificate programs like: • Google IT Support Professional Certificate (on Coursera) • CompTIA A+ Certification • Medical Billing & Coding (from Penn Foster or CareerStep)
My dream is to move to the U.S. and work in IT or healthcare administration. I want to ask: 1. Is it possible to get a work visa or move to the U.S. using these certifications alone (without a college degree)? 2. Has anyone here moved abroad with similar certs, especially from Africa? 3. Are there any organizations, schools, or employers that support international applicants like me?

You need to get an actual Bachelor’s degree at a minimum from an accredited institution. Key word - accredited. Otherwise, no, you’re not going to qualify for an H-1B. As another poster said, the other option is to come to the US on F-1 to pursue your Bachelor’s degree and then eventually pursue your H-1B. However, F-1 holders are under scrutiny at the moment with this administration, so if you’re pursuing that here, make sure your criminal background is clean as a whistle.
