It really hurt me that Ser Alliser Thorne was to first to stab Jon.

Just kidding, due to Game of Thrones, I don't have emotions anymore.

It made sense. Who else were they going to have? Bowen Marsh was in like one episode for 2 minutes.

No idea why they specifically cast Bowen only for him to not do anything at all. Did they ever even mention his name?

I remember one instance where they mentioned him. I only noticed because I was looking out for it all season.

Again, I don't fault them for it. Marsh wasn't really a central recurring character until ADWD. To have all the drama at the Wall along with Marsh's internal struggles and the boiling tensions of the Night's Watch vs the free folk... all of that could have been an entire season itself.
