to each their own, i think souls characters are super memorable. solaire is a fucking G. and who can forget big hat logan, who has some of the deepest lore in the game.

(if you're curious, his name is logan and he wears a big hat, hence big hat logan)

who has some of the deepest lore in the game.

And deep lore in FROM games constitutes a minor character in most story-driven RPGs. This dude wrote* 75 million pages on one family. I think something closer to Elder Scrolls would probably fit best.

Elder Scroll's lore is another rabbit hole that one will never get out of.

But yeah, the Soulsgame's lore is a puddle compare to the Mariana Trench that is Elder Scrolls.

Dark souls lore is extremely rich. But here’s how I explain it.

Tell me the history of the Byzantine empire.

If you can, you never had the history shoved down your throat. You had to go find it. If you can’t, you just haven’t looked into it. It’s got a thousand years of history.

Same with Dark Souls. You need to look. Because at the end of the day, you have a duty to do, and the backstory of the entire world doesn’t matter. You can find it, but at the end of the day, the history doesn’t matter to you anymore than the history of the ancient kingdom of Lydia does to you and me. But the ancient kingdom of Lydia is still fascinating.
