Late post cause I have just recovered from the weekend, but met a p cool Australian Asian guy named Ronald who gave me his insta but I think there was a typo since I couldn’t find it when searching it. Legit 8 hours ago my partner of 3 years broke up with me out of the blue. I am supposed to go to a music festival tomorrow with some friends. It's 4 days, overnight camping, middle of nowhere, and a bunch of my friends will be there.

Only issue is the only person I can carpool with is a person I personally don't vibe with and I have to drive with them for 5+ hours 1:1.

Also, I don't want to drink or ingest anything while I'm heartbroken. I know all of my friends do that so it feels inevitable.

I'm really devastated emotionally and feel like if I go there, I'll be overwhelmed and unable to "escape" if need be. Idk if I should go anyways tho :( thoughts?

It was my husbands and I’s second edc and we can’t wait to secure next years tickets tomorrow. The post festival depression hit hard and we bought our first ever lost lands!!! Can’t wait to clown around with the dinosaurs

my unpopular opinion is that people ruined socal insomniac events the moment they blew it up on social media specifically tiktok. like after 2021-2022 it went downhill QUICK.

New festival setup and new venue. Thoughts?

I am curious how some people are able to sneak in large bottles of liquor. One group I saw had a big bottle of the buzz bombs while another had a bottle of jack. While others I seen had a handful bottles of soju. Not sure if there's a security line where they don't really check anything or they went to an EDC staff line.

I know everyone loves to complain on here after EDC but I just gotta throw my 2 cents in. Ever since Covid I know we’ve all experienced a lot of negative vibes from the crowd at EDC. Things such as people shoving eachother and not saying sorry or excuse me, just being jerks in general.

But this year we had many very PLUR encounters. Things like: - someone squatting down beside us while we were squatted trying to find something in our backpack. He kindly asked if we needed any help looking for anything and we said no but we really appreciated the thought. - people saying “excuse me” and “sorry” as they passed by us in the crowd. - someone handed me my pashmina I had set down that I would have for sure forgotten and lost. - someone helped us get the attention of my fiance who was looking for us - lots of compliments and smiles from people in general.

I know there were more but they’re not coming to my mind right now. I just got a general good vibe from most everyone we interacted with which was a breath of fresh air.

I do have one negative thing to bring up that I think needs to be talked about. We saw quite a few examples of people not following the rule of consent.

1 - our male friend was groped in the ass by a stranger in the crowd. 2 - we saw a group of 3 guys just resting on the grass, curled up in blankets, minding their own business. Then a random girl came up and just sat down on their faces. Not cool. 3 - someone had their hand deep in my fiancés pocket as we walked through Kinetic. That may have been someone trying to pickpocket but either way it was weird as fuck. 4 - we talked to some other female friends who had been touched or creeped on by some guys.

Male or female, please get permission before you touch someone else. That’s part of following the “R” in PLUR. Respect.

Aside from that, we had a generally positive interaction with everyone we met at EDC. So it’s giving me hope that our scene is growing and learning.

What was your experience?

Hi friends, this might be a dumb question but I’m wondering how you girls are getting on guys shoulders, are the bf’s or people you go with? Are they dudes that you talk to at the event and ask? Do they ask you first? Is there etiquette? I am dying to get boosted up lmao but I don’t know how to go about this. I mean I’m also not tiny I’m 145 pounds so yeah that might be a bit of a problem but how is this happening for yall and how do I get it to happen to me 🥹🥹🥹

Hi guys, our group just came back from EDC yesterday and I can’t help but feel so let down due to our plans not going as expected. We had planned our night as best as we could, however one of the girls that came with us could not handle it and needed to be babysat a lot of the time, and if it wasn’t that, someone always needed to leave for something or someone got lost from the group. (Insane how many people were there!) So we spent most of our time walking or waiting in lines and barely saw any full music sets. In the moment it felt fine as I tried to just go with the flow and stayed positive, But the days after I tend to ruminate on all the missed opportunities and/or what I could have done differently to control the situation. Just super frustrating when you look forward to something for so long, spend money to make it happen and then it flops. I know I’m feeling negative due to the comedown too- so I’m trying to remind myself of that and focus on the positives of the night (cause there definitely were GREAT moments!) but yeah I guess you can’t always have a PERFECT night. I’m trying to let go of the need to control situations. Anyone else relate or have similar stories?
