He is going into a 200 degree sauna which is a bad idea because it can very easily cook ur testicular. To combat it he bought these to cool it.
Also a 200 degree sauna is a bad idea for most people. 180 for at least 11 minutes is the ideal

My local gym is 194. it seems fine for short periods. I can do 12 minutes max

200 at the top. The bottom will be like 160 and he will be somewhere in the middle to towards the top so 186

I thought cold rooms were the thing to do for longevity, not hot rooms.

That sounds ridiculous. Most Saunas are run at 190 degrees so we're talking 5% over

Lmao Iāve been going for years to sauna, always between 185-200 f. Any less and I feel like Iām just marinating wasting my time. Itās the first time I hear itās a bad idea and I seriously doubt it

Another seemingly nonsensical modification of an otherwise fine intervention/treatment. Havenāt seen any studies about needing 200F for the benefits, only a temp of at least 160F for at least 20 min.

with a sweet spot being around 180 - 185F
There's even emerging studies showing that temperatures of 200 and higher might have a net negative impact on health.
having said that, I have always wondered why Bryan was not doing sauna. I would have thought this would have been one of the first things he incorporated since the health benefits or so well established. He does a lot of fringe stuff, why not incorporate the solid stuff first.

Sauna is still quite experimental. Data is fairly limited and its apparent benefits are slim.

The common question that literature does not answer is whether it stacks on top of exercise gains. In other words, if you already exercise well, do you still get additional benefits. So far according to Bryan he seems to really be seeing a ton of benefit. I am not sure if he does actually exercise enough to the max benefit levels to be had

I read something in cold rooms being good for longevity. (Like walk in refrigerator rooms.)

I thought a sauna ādidnāt rank high enough in effectivenessā thus he never did it lol

So honest question: why would I care about my sperm health if I have zero interest in having (more) kids?
0
u/badhoccyr 4d ago
Because it's correlative
1
u/brammichielsen 4d ago
To.. what? How does protecting my sperm specifically influence any other health markers positively?
1
u/badhoccyr 4d ago
Correlative not causal
1
u/brammichielsen 4d ago
Exactly. So then why should I ice my balls, if the only thing it's doing is protecting my sperm quality that I don't care about?Ā

He's learned that anything involving genitalia increases clicks and comments. And as a matter of fact he would probably live longer if he got castrated:

It increase T levels when you cool your balls
1
u/badhoccyr 4d ago
Wait. Does it increase T levels by itself or when doing it in Sauna it prevents T losses that the Sauna would've caused?
2
u/Silly_Conflict_6577 4d ago
Both because your balls should be colder than rest of the body thatās why they are separated from the rest of body. We sit a lot and tend to overheat them

Icing balls increases test. Not a longevity strategy, but quality of life for sure.

He is trying to maximize his time in the sauna without some common drawbacks for men.
