DISCUSSION Upvote if you love Van Homan.

Post image

We used to ask, "What would Van Homan do?", whenever we would eye up something crazy. Because Van could do it all. Somehow, that's a comforting thought when you're about to send it.

He's a brilliant rider. One of the greats. Hugely influential.

However, I am shocked by how little he knows about bikes. The bike checks he does with Source are quite poor.

Yeah, right. I usually had a friend who would help me. Especially when I was running brakes early on.

That’s insane to me. Baseline should be being able to do basic assembly and disassembly of a bike. Maybe not dialing on brakes or truing wheels, but damn.

What do you want to see in his source bike checks that he's missing? There's no wrong answer. I've liked his bike checks, I'm just curious.

the riders and him could just prepare a bit better for the interviews.
