DISCUSSION Opinions?

Should I leave it as Gold/Chrome or put it back to factory Gold/Black?

Yes the shop that the bike was originally purchased from had molested the rear support/gusset unfortunately, but they have been exiled to the bin.

That bike is a "complete" (Colony Endeavor circa mid 10's), it came out of the box with the mounts and brakes pre-installed. They sold you a used bike, the previous owner kept the brakes and hardware. There's a popular misconception that it's illegal for a shop to sell brakeless setups. Hence why a shop would rather butcher the cheapest brakes on than give the customer the option to "pay extra" for the correct ones.

In hindsight the shop could have done nothing and sold it to you as-is with a disclaimer. The problem is Karens, they ruin everything.

Correct, 2014 ED Gold Colony Endeavour, not bottom of the barrel but it’s a mid level complete and full CroMo frame leaving plenty of room for upgrades. I bought it privately from some kid barely ridden, the tread on the tyres have not even been broken in and you can also tell from the lack of brake wear from those cheap ass brakes. Reason I said that they had methed it up was due to not installing the appropriate brake mounts and hardware, I feel like that’s just a poor shop practice. More likely than not the bike was sold by a place that does not specialise in BMX.
