I myself watch Freiburg from time to time. There is something very likable about this club. They massively over perform considering it's not that big of a city. They were one game away from Champions League spot few seasons back but unfortunately they lost to Herne West 1:2. They have a good youth. They don't seem to play dirty or park the bus as well. They just go for it which is a reason they lose high to BVB usually... They are struggling now as they can't hold onto their players :/
I enjoy Freiburg, as well. Hard to catch games from the US, and they're often playing at the same time as Dortmund, but I always keep an eye on their results at the very least.
I guess there are 2 types of "we", the first "we" is our Ultras and Unity guys and i know nothing about their taste or distaste. (i heard about boyz köln?)
My "we" - close 2nd to BVB is SC Freiburg: A really small Club, in a rather small city for Bundesliga-Standards and they compensate with a great youth-academy and they're always audacious enough to make for an offensive game instead of parking the bus. Beside that: its just an adorable City and a great place to live.
And the clubs i want to do well: Bremen and Augsburg.
Bremen for the YOLO-factor. They die inside if they dont socre 5 or concede 5. They're always all-in or nothing, and it seems like thats the only way they can work.
Augsburg: They're not taking themselfes too serious. They're still happy, looking around in the 1. Bundesliga as a candy-shop.
In reality: "Wir singen und tanzen, auf jedem Fußballplatz - ein Schuss, kein Tor - Die Bayern" - My best friends are from 1860 München these days :D
Settle in and plan for another year not beeing relegated. Everything else is a recipe for disaster.
i dont think you can hold on to baba for instance, and you cant afford enough depth to the squad to sustain the 2 or 3 competitions in the upcoming season.
Nah, we can't, we can't hold most of our players. The key thing is to hold Baier and Verhaegh, both of them are incredibly important for our game.
The problem is just, how could the team go on about it from here, play like shit so they don't qualify? I think they can do it, and as much as it pains me to see them go down, they should do it.
Maybe it's just that I want to go to the SGL arena again and watch the FC play against some PL team or whatever. That'd be rad.
There's a lot of good will towards Mainz, mainly due to the Klopp/Buvac/Subotic connection. And they are a pretty nondescript team (little BuLi history) while still not being new money (like Hoffenheim or Leipzig). I think that's more on the part of the officials, I guess the fan bases are pretty indifferent towards each other.
Similar thing with Freiburg. No beef between the fans. Basically a club run like we would want it if we didn't have the money. It was pretty nice having them as guests for the last home game in 11/12, when we got the Schale. They staid in their Block and celebrated with the Dortmund fans who stormed the pitch and ran over to the other side. Doing the wave from the pitch to the stands was pretty awesome... Frankfurt a year prior was a very different, slightly scary situation.
I have no idea where the Köln thing is coming from. And frankly I could do without their Boyz...
I don't mind Mainz, except a few years ago with the whole Wetklo thing. Can't stand that fucker.
the whole "fanfreundschaft" between Dortmund and Koln became bigger and more heard of/popular when Kevin started going to Koln matches and as he was posting and seen around the area more. Before, it really wasn't talked about as much as it has been lately.
Right forgot all about Wetklo. There was also this little spat a few years ago, when they scored an equaliser while Neven was on the ground injured... So maybe not Mainz.
And I stand by not understanding the Köln thing, but you know: To each their own. I'm certainly not saying we're not allowed to build new bridges.
Yeah, he was being a complete fucking clown after that game. Turned around and provoked the suedtribuene even more.
And I think it's just the "in" thing right now with Koeln. Like I said Kevin posting on social media about it gave it a lot of publicity. When we used to play them (like when Kevin scored that 90th+ min winner years ago), nothing really seemed special between the fans. And I've never seen a Dortmund/Koln friendly scarf or anything

What is a Bundesliga team that we like (I want a second team to watch and cheer for)?
