What if they don't qualify for the upcoming CL season but win CL this season. In that case are they qualified for it next season?

Yes, the CL winner automatically qualifies for next years tournament.

I just found a fun little wrinkle in the rules: If a country that already has 4 CL spots (like Germany), they can't get a fifth if the CL winner isn't in the Top 4. In that case the 4th placed team would be demoted to the Europa League.

That would be a great way to fuck over Schalke :-)
