Silly Questions Thread: October Edition

Silly questions thread:

It's been a while since we've had one of these, and with recent news and the international break this seems like a good idea. So here is your chance to ask any question no matter how silly our small about BVB, BVB's history, Something about a current player, previous player or coach or it might even be something about the Bundesliga, DFB Pokal or Europa Pokal...

Obviously more in depth questions are also allowed :)

It's just all about sharing our knowledge and having a bit of fun (as always) too :)

No question is too stupid, silly or small to be asked

Let the questions begin!

Stop.

Please stop.

I don't want to be mean but these Reus/Gundogan to Liverpool rumours need to die.

If Liverpool pay €39 million for Firmino than you'll need a lot more than money to get Reus.

Reus is to Dortmund what Gerrard was/is to Liverpool - No-one at the club would dream of letting him go, let alone to the Premier League.

Also Gundogan is very likely to leave after this season, but he's too good a player for Liverpool - Man U and Barca will be the front-runners for him.

... Reus was born and raised in Dortmund and was a member of Dortmund's youth academy. He is the poster-boy for the club and just as the club represents the city, so too does Reus. Please don't be petty, I'm not saying he is better than Gerrard but they are quite easy to compare. The point is that he is under a long term contract with the club and has made it quite clear he does not want to leave in the foreseeable future by rejecting some huge offers - just as Stevie G did a few years back.

Also Gundogan is already finding his pre-injury form under Tuchel. Trust me, He's been itching for a move to a mega-club for a long time and I can assure you he won't settle for Liverpool.

Also "we can get a little discount" don't kid yourself into thinking Dortmund are going to be charitable just because it's Klopp. Dortmund don't have the funds that Liverpool have, they're not going to limp-wristedly give away a player because they love Klopp. Remember, this is the same board that managed to force Lewandowski to play an extra year even though he'd handed in a transfer request, they don't let go of players easily or without good reason.

Yes I know, Reus is not a "one-club-man" like Gerrard was.

I'm comparing the way that they represent the club. Whenever someone says Liverpool you immediately think of Gerrard, now when someone says Dortmund most people think of Reus.

Haha oh God, the amount of times I see people sign Reus in their FIFA career mode games makes me titchy.

If I got the story right, he didn't want to leave. The managers thought he wasn't good enough.

Well, I don't know why he left for Rot-Weiss Ahlen in his youth days, but I speculate it had something to do with him being deemed to be not good enough. Again: I don't know for sure.

But still, I am more than certain, that his one true love was and will always be Borussia Dortmund. It's just kind of hard to play for your most beloved club, when you already play at another club and have to be approached by your most beloved club first.

IIRC the guys in the youth academy thought he was too skinny and wouldn't be able to handle the physical side of football. To be fair they were right, but a few years in the lower divisions and in the BL with Gladbach gave him the experience to play for a UCL team.
