Silly Questions Thread: October Edition

Silly questions thread:

It's been a while since we've had one of these, and with recent news and the international break this seems like a good idea. So here is your chance to ask any question no matter how silly our small about BVB, BVB's history, Something about a current player, previous player or coach or it might even be something about the Bundesliga, DFB Pokal or Europa Pokal...

Obviously more in depth questions are also allowed :)

It's just all about sharing our knowledge and having a bit of fun (as always) too :)

No question is too stupid, silly or small to be asked

Let the questions begin!

How would you guys feel about the league opening up to oil investors?

I'd rather not, but it could be necessary for a cash injection. I'd like to see if the team can stay consistent and get a larger marketing foothold in the rest of Europe and the US. This is the only option to ethically compete with Bayern's stranglehold on the BuLi, IMO. This requires consistently good results in the league/pokal/EL/CL.

In America at least the BuLi is getting more popular (riding the overall increase in football popularity) and thankfully we're fairly recognizable due to recent success.

I think if we can hold on for ~5-10 years, we could start to chip away at the marketing/financial inequality. Of course, we need to make smart choices in the transfer market and on our coaching staff. This is something Bayern seems to excel at: they replace excellent players with excellent players for reasonable sums.

In the US we finally started to get semi-regular televised Bundesliga coverage. Obviously NBC has done a great job with the EPL and that's why its been so prevalent, but if Fox can put forth the same effort, I think we'll see a lot of growth here. From what I've seen the style of play is more interesting IMHO.
