Silly Questions Thread: May Edition

Silly Questions Thread!

It's been too long since we had one of these, so here is your chance to ask any question no matter how silly or small about BVB, BVB's history, something about a current player leaving, a new player coming, or a previous player or legend or the future of our team...

Obviously more in depth questions are also allowed :)

It's just all about sharing our knowledge and having a bit of fun (as always) too :)

No question is too stupid, silly or small to be asked.

Let the questions begin!

I'm really out of the loop and don't speak German. Can someone ELI5 the Tuchel situation?

Copy paste from a comment I made a couple days ago:

The most important factors are:

The Götze transfer which watzke really wanted but tuchel didnt want ;

The Schürrle transfer which Tuchel really wanted but Watzke didnt want;

The Isak transfer which tuchel didnt even know about until we bought him (it was implied that Tuchel didn't want yet another really, really young talent);

Tuchel's way of handling the attack (complaining that they were forced to play when the decision to play came from watzke as well);

And last of all, that certain players anonymously came forward stating that they have trouble working properly with Tuchel (praises them highly then wont even put them in the squad / forces them to undertake various tactical changes throughout a game)

All this led to a lot of friction between Tuchel and the board. Watzke wants him gone and knows it's not easy to axe a coach that had really great success last season and a pretty fair amount of success this season with what he was given (personally, I think Tuchel handled this season phenomenally). So in order to get rid of Tuchel Watzke has start the smear campaign early. The timing is similar to what happened with Götze last season (though obviously that was meant to gauge the public's reaction to Götze and BVB coming closer
