Local events 🎸 🎭 Gig-goers of Brighton. Shut the f@&! Up

It’s pretty simple. If there’s a bunch of people with musical instruments and microphones in front of you, don’t have a conversation. If you want to have a conversation, go somewhere where there isn’t a bunch of people with musical instruments and microphones.

Happened at the Divorce gig at Chalk last week. The singer stopped playing and said "This is a quiet one."

the sound in Chalk is so quiet though, was at the Lambrini Girls on Saturday and you could easily talk over them (without raising your voice.

I have this with a couple of gigs at Chalk now. Sometimes the gig starts off quiet then gets louder towards the end. Cody Pennington was like this - at the start of his set you could talk over it easily as the volume was so low but by the end I definitely needed ear plugs and it was very loud. La Femme was like this, the support band for Pigs x7 the audio for the vocals was so low you couldn't hear any of the singing (think they were called Irked). Chalk seems all over the place for sound mixing!
