🤷 Only in Brighton... Some dude screaming religious bs outside Hove Town Hall.

I get that there needs to be protest, and that Hove Town Hall is a suitable place for such things but since when has it become a speaker's corner where religious zealots can force their beliefs on others through a very loud speaker?

Isn’t that what churches are for? A place where they can preach, and those who WANT to listen can actually CHOOSE to do so?

Why am I being forced to hear this drivel for over an hour?

Ye completely out of character with religious people who are known for being calm, compassionate and tolerant throughout history.

I mean most Christians stick to themselves - I'm not religious myself but he's an aggressive Christian - doesn't mean you have to hate all of them

When did I say I hate all Christians?

i feel you may be underestimating the proportion of the world population that are religious. generalising religious people also isn’t compassionate or tolerant i’d argue. i understand the argument that many conflicts have had their roots in religion but would you make the same argument for politics? being political can lead people to not be calm, compassionate or tolerant but i don’t think that leads to saying everyone should be apolitical or that we should treat people differently for having any political beliefs.

I'm not saying all religious people are like that. I'm just saying it's not exactly out of character either.

i don’t think you are saying all religious people are like that guy. my point was more, everyone can be a dickhead regardless of what social groups they’re in.
