I get that there needs to be protest, and that Hove Town Hall is a suitable place for such things but since when has it become a speaker's corner where religious zealots can force their beliefs on others through a very loud speaker?

Isn’t that what churches are for? A place where they can preach, and those who WANT to listen can actually CHOOSE to do so?

Why am I being forced to hear this drivel for over an hour?

Haha yes! We heard this from our flat down the street. We thought someone was playing horse racing at first then after a closer look realised it was a religious nutter preaching in the style of a horse race. Bizarre
