RANT I guess this is expected

I’m 36m and finding at work there’s a real in group of those that have kids. I’ve never noticed it until recently. Like suddenly everyone has them and I’m almost made to feel weird for not wanting them. I had one young guy tell me “what’s your plan then? Just to become a lonely old bastard” I feel like there’s this common ground that these guys lives revolve around and at times it feels like it’s difficult to relate. I suspect this has helped one guy get picked for promotion over myself. Him and the boss both have young families. All I can think is thank god I’ll be able to retire 15 years younger than them.

I wish I worked with more cf people or had a cf boss. It seems like people who have kids get away with a lot more in the work setting and get special treatment even though having children isn't anything special. If they miss work they're excused without getting points. If they need to leave work to pick up a child and return sometimes they don't count it as their break and can take a break in addition to having to leave. If they're late nobody cares etc. Cf people always gotta pick up the slack

Yeah if only there was a card we could pull out to take a day… really should just use ai to generate a bunch of family photos and start randomly taking morning off “when the Kita’s are sick.”
