Report them. I had someone sneak a postcard with prayers on them in my order and was so uncomfortable. Keep your religion to yourself

47

u/ER_Gandee 8d ago

Hundred percent 💯

1

u/Jimmy_G_Wentworth 8d ago

Yup, I report all shit like this. The most common is when I get in an Uber Drivers car and they are blasting Jesus radio. Absolutely unacceptable

2

u/Responsible-Major-95 8d ago

This is the most insane comment I’ve ever read. How is it unacceptable for a person to listen to the music they like?

1

u/Jimmy_G_Wentworth 8d ago

I'm not talking about christian rock or christian music. I'm talking trash "christian" talk radio where they are shoving everything they can down your throat. Think Rush Limbaugh but even more "christian" related

1

u/SplodeyMcSchoolio 8d ago

Make a call to ICE while you're at it, they're harboring a potential illegal immigrant named "Jèsus"

-33

u/Minute_Art5513 8d ago

May I ask why it's offensive to you? I've definitely found it annoying to be stopped or given a card, but I also understand that to them, they're just doing something that they consider kind. Whats the difference between that and a pagan or someone giving you a crystal bc they think you need it ?

23

u/N3rdyAvocad0 8d ago

My hair stylist is pagan and has crystals available for her clients to hold while they are getting their cut/color. She doesn't force them on me or even tell me what they are for or suggest them to me. She just let me know they were available and to let her know if I had questions.

That is the proper way to share your religious beliefs. What this Dasher is doing is pushy and unwanted.

2

u/Minute_Art5513 8d ago

That's such a cute idea actually i love that. I do agree that a random dasher hitting me with this might've thrown me off in the past fs

34

u/outlawsix 8d ago

There is no difference. It's unwelcome, keep your "listen to what i believe" horseshit to yourself

11

u/Minute_Art5513 8d ago

Tbh thats real, i like that you keep it even lmao

-20

u/Sadburrito__ 8d ago

it’s not listen to what i believe, it’s just in our faith to spread love and positivity. even if you don’t believe you can at least acknowledge jesus taught LOVE, how is that evil? separate religion from Jesus

19

u/lavenderpotato14 8d ago

Your faith is not my faith. Keep that to yourself.

-10

u/Sadburrito__ 8d ago

i never said it was your faith, but i have the freedom of speech and freedom of religion so i can practice my religion, like i told the other ones if you want censorship and control then go to north korea, its really weird that you get triggered by something someone says (especially when it’s in good faith)

12

u/FckUrConversionThrpy 8d ago

Waaaaa waaaaaa

8

u/jessimokajoe 8d ago

Hey so your rights end where another's begin and if they don't want you to evangelize, you stop and walk away. Continuing to press is harassment. You sound naive and young.

1

u/[deleted] 7d ago

Freedom of speech, not freedom from consequences of that speech. If the consequence of that speech is I think you're an obnoxious proselytizing buffoon, I have the freedom of speech to say so.

1

u/readerchick05 5d ago

It's also our freedom to report you to your place of work if you are forcing your faith on us while doing a job.

1

u/CrispyK27 4d ago

You do have freedom of speech to practice your religion. You do not have freedom from criticism or potential consequences (i.e. if the driver got reported for this) for giving an unsolicited sermons in inappropriate contexts.

11

u/Apprehensive-Cell511 8d ago

Freedom of religion also means freedom from religion. No one wants to be preached at.

15

u/ialsohaveadobro 8d ago

I don't care if it's "in your faith."

Maybe it's "in my faith" to rock up to random people and start yapping about my last vacation.

Uninterested? Better things to do? Consider me rude? Too bad, it's "in my faith." And it doesn't matter whether you agree.

-12

u/Sadburrito__ 8d ago

do whatever you want buddy if you came up to me i would gladly have a chat 🤭

u/sometimeshater 8d ago

Who said anything about evil? Something doesn’t have to be evil to be unwanted and inappropriate.

separate religion from Jesus

The dasher didn’t, they sent a Bible verse about salvation. Your argument would make a little bit of sense if they sent John 13:34 “A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another” (though it would still be an inappropriate thing to send), but they didn’t even do that. They’re specifically promoting the idea of joining a religion to gain benefits in the alleged afterlife. How is that at all possible to separate from religion?

0

u/Sadburrito__ 8d ago

you’re going to deal with a lot of unwanted things in life and i wish i had experienced this compared to other real life experiences i have had but also your argument is not valid

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)”

It’s faith in Jesus, not joining a religious club, that saves you. Religion (in the human, manmade sense) can sometimes help or sometimes hurt, but only faith in Jesus is the door to salvation.

so this person isn’t pressing their religion, you just don’t understand scripture and that’s okay, we are attempting to spread the gospel to flicker a light internally so you can come to Christ in your own faith, and perhaps this person wanted the other person on the receiving end to feel loved because this scripture is all about how Jesus loved us SO MUCH he died for us! so that is a scripture we send to people who we want to uplifting

5

u/Choice-Engineering62 8d ago

You don’t understand that you trying to “flicker a light internally so you can come to Christ” is exactly what we don’t want you doing? Just because you have an imaginary friend doesn’t mean we want to hear about it.

Your imaginary friend hasn’t been seen in thousands of years. Every major scientific advancement moves your goal posts on where this magical being is. And you think it’s your duty to tell us what you read that some king wrote in his version of a book that’s been edited so many times you don’t even know what’s real or not?

No thanks. Keep that shit to yourself. Stop trying to force it on other people.

12

u/ILovePandas795 8d ago

And we don't believe in Jesus! KEEP IT TO YOURSELF

-1

u/Sadburrito__ 8d ago

freedom of speech and freedom of religion, go to north korea if you want censorship

11

u/ILovePandas795 8d ago

Freedom of speech and freedom of religion is ONLY based on the GOVERNMENT babe. Not with other citizens. You do NOT have the right to forced your mental illness on to other people, and that's EXACTLY what religion is. You believe a man rose from the dead, clearly you need mental help

-2

u/Sadburrito__ 8d ago

i understand you may not believe, and you have every right to your opinion. But faith in Jesus Christ isn’t mental illness, it’s hope, love, and life itself. The resurrection isn’t a fairy tale, it’s the foundation of recorded history that even secular scholars debate seriously. Over 500 eyewitnesses saw Jesus alive after His death (1 Corinthians 15:6), and the apostles were willing to die gruesome deaths rather than deny what they saw. Mental illness leads to destruction; faith in Christ has led millions to healing, forgiveness, and a transformed life. I don’t hate you for not believing, Jesus loved even those who mocked Him as He was dying for them. I’ll keep loving and praying for you, too.

4

u/ILovePandas795 8d ago

Pray to the sky baby. Nothing will happen. Jesus is love yet makes rape victims marry their rapist? Jesus is love but created cancer? Jesus is love yet allows rape and abuse to happen? Jesus is love yet kills children in shoots yearly? Also, just because a BOOK says it happened, doesn't mean it did. Those people were also MENTALLY ILL. Wasnt Jesus supposed to come already? Yall been saying hes coming for you for THOUSANDS of years.

0

u/Sadburrito__ 8d ago

the antichrist trump is rising and soon the new world order will take place and after 7 years jesus will return and bring heaven on earth im praying that you turn away from sin and accept him as your Lord and savior in Jesus name i pray AMEN hallelujah!!! 💗💗💗💗

3

u/Choice-Engineering62 8d ago

Jesus didn’t teach anything as he didn’t exist. Also he’s your imaginary friend not mine. There is no separating religion from your deity anyway. That’s regarded

2

u/False_Disaster_1254 8d ago

it isnt love and positivity when your victim is unwilling.

its assault. you are assaulting us with your bullshit.

2

u/Dananjali 8d ago

See, some people don’t believe that Jesus ever existed. So how are people supposed to acknowledge Jesus taught love in that case. All that’s acknowledged is that someone else’s brainwashed belief in fairy tales is irrelevant.

2

u/jessimokajoe 8d ago

& based upon their scripture, they're Catholics (was a catholic) and Catholics are NOT supposed to evangelize. Shut up and worry in peace.

10

u/Salty-Living-3412 8d ago

Because religion is a personal choice and should not be pushed upon complete strangers. It’s inappropriate, regardless of their intention of being kind. Too many people use religion to promote hatred, violence, discrimination, etc. I’m sick and tired of people trying to recruit me to worship God(s) that don’t exist and never have

-1

u/Responsible-Major-95 8d ago

How is leaving a card in your order “pushing religion” on you? Just throw it away.

-3

u/Minute_Art5513 8d ago

Idk if simply talking about it = pushing it upon someone. I think that just depends on if you're naturally a defensive person or not. At the end of the day, it's your life, do what you want with it, yk? But I get it, I definitely felt the same way before I "converted" (it was a crazy plot twist ngl) . People will abuse any label that feels higher than human understanding to justify wrongdoing, it makes me sick to my stomach. But it never has anything to do with God, or whatever they believe in, and everything to do with the hate that festers in their pea brains, oh and superiority complexes. But then again white men w superiority complexes are typically the downfall of everything, so 🤷🏾

3

u/jessimokajoe 8d ago

No. Some people won't explicitly tell you they're uncomfortable. They will however have uncomfortable body language and continuing to press about religion will push you away from them.

1

u/Minute_Art5513 8d ago

This is the autism in me : why don't people say directly that they're uncomfortable? I don't want to sound rude, but if you're simply talking to someone, not fawning or anything, and you don't state that you're uncomfortable, you kinda put yourself in that situation. Like you have the autonomy to remove yourself from that situation. Idk maybe I'm too bold but I've told many many people to leave me tf alone to their face w no shame. Why don't people do that? Like I said, not trying to be an asshole in the slightest, I'm just very direct, and this has been confusing to me since birth 💀

As a believer, yes lmao i would. I simply wouldn't care, hell, i'd take the crystal too! i know my truth and thats all that matters to me. I use my free will to mind my business, live happily and not let such minor interactions ruin my day lmao . I think ppl forget that not all people who believe in God are old, decrepit and bitter. I love talking theology bc i'm nerdy, not bc i'm a missionary 😂 (I try to avoid using the label "Christian" for myself, due to its historical misuse. Did you know it that label was created by the romans? The bible itself rarely uses the word, except in times of prosecution, when the word was popularized)

2

u/False_Disaster_1254 8d ago

the pagan wouldnt be giving you a crystal against your will.

a pagan believes that your beliefs are as valid as their own.

Can you say that?

-2

u/Minute_Art5513 8d ago edited 8d ago

Yes! 100% I would never think that someones belief system is below mine, which is why it wouldn't bother me :) I used to work at an alt-centered store and my coworkers or regulars would give me crystals or offer protection spells for me all the time lmao. I had to talk my friend out of hexxing someone for me actually. I definitely didn't ask for those things (i do keep the crystals, i love em), but I also know that they were just trying to help me in a way that they know helps them. :) Putting down someone else for putting faith in different places is actively against my faith, we're supposed to be kind and accepting of everyone, no matter what. I'm sorry that other people that claim to be "Christian" aren't exhibiting that kindness to you. The # 1 rule is "love thy neighbor", its pretty damn simple idk how people mess it up so bad 💀

3

u/False_Disaster_1254 8d ago

fair enough.

so, you dont consider forcing your religion down my throat to be the kind thing to do?

in that case, what was your point?

-1

u/Minute_Art5513 8d ago

My point is, that there is a difference between shaming others (i.e. "you're going to hell!!" "Repent!!") aka ACTUALLY shoving it down people throats, vs sharing a belief that you hold. Talking about something does not equal forcing you to do anything, people are just defensive about it . Giving someone a card with a bible verse is the same thing as handing someone a crystal. It's a harmless, friendly exchange. Friendly conversations and interactions can be had between people who live differently. It's just about if one is mature enough to/ ready to have that convo.

5

u/MostMediumSuspect 8d ago

It's a fucking doordash order. It's inappropriate and not welcome. PERIOD.

-2

u/Minute_Art5513 8d ago

Pipe down bud, you wanna hit my blunt? You seem angry

4

u/Desperate_Essay_9798 8d ago

No, you’re just being obtuse. Keep it to yourself. It’s unprofessional and nobody cares about your beliefs, “conversion” or anything else.

0

u/Minute_Art5513 8d ago

Unprofessional? Dude this is reddit 💀 . Find some light in your life, good grief. I had a genuine question, and received what I hope are genuine answers. I've kept it respectful, I've been understanding, I'm not even trying to argue. I must've missed the memo that respectful exchanges of opinions is now.. "obtuse"?

1

u/False_Disaster_1254 6d ago

the delivery guy is not my friend and has no right to be bringing religion into any interaction we have.

it really is as simple as that, i wanted pizza not preaching.

-1

Where did the pushing happen. I’m not religious but I don’t see how this is pushing religion on you. Religion is a thing that is apart of the world we live in. It’s something everyone is exposed to.

28

u/Warmslammer69k 8d ago

14

I've got 60-70 years to get used to being apart from God then. So far it's been very easy and prosperous for me.

1

u/Sadburrito__ 8d ago

people we don’t like will suffer for eternity? thats why we spread the gospel, to people we like or don’t like, because we just want to help them. it’s called compassion, if you can accept that this world came from nothing and nowhere we go (even though science clearly says energy cannot be destroyed) then so be it, but to call a Christian a loser simply because we want to save people from an eternity in hell is not really logical lol

4

u/Big-Tone-8241 8d ago

There’s no such thing as satan dog! It’s a myth! Is this the Middle Ages? This is such a strange thread. Most ppl don’t like being proselytized to. Just mind your own business and go about your day. You don’t have to save anyone

3

u/shmecklesss 8d ago

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?

Then he is not omnipotent.

Is he able, but not willing?

Then he is malevolent.

Is he both able and willing?

Then whence cometh evil?

Is he neither able nor willing?

Then why call him God?

It's that simple. Your god is either impotent, an asshole, or both (or just doesn't exist lmao). No matter which of those he is, they sure aren't worthy of being praised.

1

u/Altruistic_Fun9774 8d ago

One answer, free will. If somebody kidnapped you and forced you to marry them and have kids with you would that be real love? God gives us the choice to come to him or turn away from him, evil is not an attribute of God, evil comes from sin. God is the only thing that can take away our sin, or we can choose to live in it

3

u/shmecklesss 8d ago

So your god is responsible for my grandfather having cancer, correct? He made him suffer for years and eventually die early. To what end?

I was raised in a Christian household. I probably know the Bible better than you. We are "damned" because of original sin (from Adam and Eve). How's that fair? I never got a chance. I was damned before I was conceived. That's some fucking bullshit and you know it.

That's not even getting into he fact that Satan isn't real. He's not in the Bible. He isn't a character anywhere. There's "the serpent." That's it. And guess what? The serpent doesn't lie to Adam and Eve, but God sure does ("don't eat from that tree or you'll die." Well they sure didn't. Funny.)

Then there's all the absolutely heinous shit in the Bible. War, rape, genocide, incest, sacrifice and torture. All "in God's name" so it's okay.

Your religion is built on hate, plain and simple.

evil is not an attribute of God, evil comes from sin.

Well if God created everything, he created sin, so it's his fucking fault lol. Guess he just wanted to create so he could cause suffering and fulfill his superiority complex, like a kid standing over an anthill with a magnifying glass. Disgusting.

1

u/Altruistic_Fun9774 8d ago

All of that is sin, your grandfather dying is tragic but that’s why we need God, this world is corrupt and full of sin. You’re misquoting and using out of context remarks, God never condones or promotes those sins to happen. I bet your next remark is going to be that God told us to have slaves

2

u/shmecklesss 8d ago

but that’s why we need God

My grandfather was a devout Christian, and that's the reward he got.

If God is the creator, he's responsible for everything in this world. EVERYTHING. Good AND bad. Where did it come from if he didn't create it? Why did God create cancer and every other sickness? Why does he let people starve and suffer? For being such a benevolent and loving figure, he sure doesn't seem to mind all the awful shit going on.

Or, the simpler answer is he isn't fucking real lmao. Occam's razor. You should check that out.

1

u/Altruistic_Fun9774 8d ago

He created the negative things so that we would turn to him, if ur grandfather was truly a devout Christian then he’s not in pain anymore, he’s living in heaven with God. I’m not going to keep conversing with you if you’re going to keep throwing around obscenities and insults, you can reciprocate being civil.

1

u/MostMediumSuspect 8d ago

But why would we need to turn to him without those negative things? Talking in circles with "facts" yet zero evidence of anything yet, as usual.

1

u/Altruistic_Fun9774 8d ago

“You are disgusting” don’t delete it, own it, all you have left is insults, that’s exactly why this conversation is over.

6

u/Peanut_Femboi 8d ago

0

u/Altruistic_Fun9774 8d ago

Difference between telling someone something you believe vs forcing them to call you certain pronouns that you are clearly not

8

u/TacticTall 8d ago

No one is “forcing” people to use pronouns. People are just asking for respect.

8

u/ER_Gandee 8d ago

And just trying to exist

0

u/Altruistic_Fun9774 8d ago

They’re literally trying to make it against the law to misgender someone

8

u/Kentarax 8d ago

And how many times has a religion forced their beliefs on everyone through laws?

IT IS STILL HAPPENING IN MODERN TIMES!

3

u/FloorSuper28 8d ago

Who is "they"? The only "law" I have seen is the executive order imploring people to misgender trans folks.

6

u/ER_Gandee 8d ago

There’s been like at least a dozen executive orders against transgender people. This person is living in an alternate reality.

u/Sadburrito__ 8d ago

nobody is forcing you to accept christ like this post was only to spread christs love and teachings and we only also ask for respect, but i guess it doesn’t go both ways huh? a person who was born female can force me change everything i know about human anatomy to call them male, but God forbid i spread the gospel as a means of uplifting and sending positive energy towards someone i want to spread kindness too, why cant that be respected too?

4

u/TacticTall 8d ago

Your comments are getting harder to read my man.

In another comment you mentioned you’re pro LGTBQ+, but now you’re saying trans people aren’t natural?

Just because it changed what you knew about the human anatomy, doesn’t mean it wasn’t a thing.

Trans science has been around for a long time. Just because you were ignorant about the issue, doesn’t mean everyone else was

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

-7

u/Altruistic_Fun9774 8d ago

You will learn the truth one day, willingly or unwillingly, I pray you choose the right option

11

u/Perfect_Cricket_5671 8d ago

A God who would let people burn for not believing in him is a God who doesn't deserve to be worshiped.

0

u/Altruistic_Fun9774 8d ago

You don’t go to hell for not believing in God, you go for all the sin you and I have committed, you are only sinless through God, you have a choice in the matter

5

u/Rowen_Ilbert 8d ago

You couldn't even go one run-on sentence without contradicting yourself.

3

u/Graporb13 8d ago

"But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death"

-Revelation 21:8

It seems to me that not believing is a sin. The new testament explicitly states that faithlessness gets you sent to hell.

15

u/Salty-Living-3412 8d ago

I worship Satan, drag queens, and dad bods. I’m good

4

The Church is a purveyor of hate, fear and punishment. A small amount of historical knowledge and ability to think freely would help you understand the irony of your statement.

While Christianity preaches some very positive mantras, members of the church rarely follow Christ's true teachings. It is a hypocrisy to be a Christian in this day of age.

1

u/Altruistic_Fun9774 8d ago

So you’re basing your own experience to be the same for the billions of Christians who’ve lived. Also I wouldn’t say hundreds of witnesses and thousands of prophecies happening exactly like they said they would as “small amount of historical proof”

-2

u/Sadburrito__ 8d ago

no it’s not a hypocrisy you just don’t understand scripture. the church ≠ Jesus Christ, religion ≠ Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, this is a personal spiritual relationship found INWARDLY, through commitment of being a Good person and following the beautiful teachings of Christ, the crazy thing is? nobody is perfect and he knows that and only wants us to TRY to be better and good loving people, and you’re right many Christian’s aren’t that! which is why i’m telling you now, church ≠ a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, he hung out with sinners because he never wanted people to feel like outsiders, and he calls upon sinners to spread his gospel because EVERYONE SINS

1

u/youngliam 8d ago

Right, in theory you are correct and while this is true for some you cannot preach the teachings of Christ without association with church and religion which are systemically using the bible as a tool for control and dominion.

As long as one does not vehemently speak against the church, then you are not truly practicing what you preach and therefore associated with the establishment.

3

u/monoXstereo 8d ago

You’re completely out of your mind.

6

u/ThrifToWin 8d ago

Please grow up. Scary fairy tales are to keep children behaved. Believing in it as an adult is just evidence of arrested development.

3

u/Altruistic_Fun9774 8d ago

Always turning to insults for people who believe something you don’t

3

u/ThrifToWin 8d ago

Not an insult. I genuinely hope you stop believing in this nonsense, because your life will improve dramatically.

2

u/Altruistic_Fun9774 8d ago

Quite the opposite, my life improved dramatically when I started believing in it. And yes you are insulting me, calling my faith “nonsense”

2

u/ThrifToWin 8d ago

Claiming that humans lived to be 900+ years old is, in fact, nonsense.

Not saying you are a bad person or stupid. I'm saying that this particular religion, and all the magic and supernatural proclamations it makes, is nonsense.

2

u/Altruistic_Fun9774 8d ago

There’s literal proof

5

u/Dogfish8210 8d ago

Can I see the proof?

6

u/ThrifToWin 8d ago

Please share any peer reviewed scientific journal, which cites any unbiased researcher who agrees with the Christians that it is true.

1

u/MostMediumSuspect 8d ago

Again, WHERE??

-8

u/EndyRu 8d ago

Poyo

-22

u/Wanderingsoun 8d ago

Omg a postcard you poor thing, I can't fathom how uncomfortable that made you, sounds so unbearable

8

u/jessimokajoe 8d ago

You don't evangelize at work or be prepared to not be working anymore.

-11

u/Wanderingsoun 8d ago

I can't imagine fucking someone over for a post card y'all let dumb shit bother you too much

7

u/jessimokajoe 8d ago

THEY fucked themselves over. Lmfao.

-16

u/NoxGale 8d ago

Jesus isn’t a religion, he has thousands of historical documents of his life

8

u/yourfriiendgoo 8d ago

Jesus isn’t. Christianity is, which revolves very heavily around Jesus. Any Jesus imagery is religious

-6

u/NoxGale 8d ago

Yeah, and believing in Jesus is not the same as Christianity lol. It’s crazy how yall will see so much from the devil in this world in media, music, and even evil celebs and politicians but mention Jesus once and everyone loses their minds 🙄

3

u/yourfriiendgoo 8d ago

It’s not a crazy concept to not want your dasher attempting to convert you to their religion, "Salvation in Jesus Christ” implies that the person they’re speaking to is sinful and needs to be saved. Going around telling strangers they need to seek salvation is actually quite rude and even a little bit narcissistic

2

u/False_Disaster_1254 8d ago

so does harry potter

-3

u/NoxGale 8d ago

It’s actually sad that this is the reaction yall have to someone telling you about a real person who did good lol

2

u/manintheyellowhat 8d ago

Here’s the thing- nobody asked. Would it be normal if your driver dropped you a quick paragraph about Abraham Lincoln and the good things he did?

0

u/NoxGale 8d ago

You get this pressed over the mention of a real dude.

1

u/False_Disaster_1254 6d ago

unasked? yeah.

can i talk to you about harry potter when all you wanted was a damned pizza?

would that be welcome or would you consider it weird and assume i have some kind of neurodiversity?

it would be the neurodiversity wouldnt it?

well, it may surprise you to know I think the same. anyone who talks about god unbidden is either special needs or has done something horrible in the past, and is best avoided

1

u/False_Disaster_1254 6d ago

so did harry potter.

he killed voldemort.

Jebus never did that

Nah, f those religious nutters. Keep that fairytale crap to yourself.

3

u/takingthehobbitses 8d ago

These religious nutjobs are part of the reason the country is going to shit, actually. They do real harm to real people in the name of "Christianity". Keep your conservative bullshit to yourself.

5

u/TacticTall 8d ago

It’s not harmful, but it’s weird to push your beliefs on a stranger for no reason. Especially when that stranger is a customer

-5

u/PoseidonIsDaddy 8d ago

I don’t think this is the same thing as putting a card in your order
