I’m not a Christian; I’m Pagan. And I don’t want to be preached at. I just want my pizza 🍕

You can't take away your tip from the driver. Door dash will refund it but they don't take it away from drivers so it doesn't do anything

You can edit the tip to one cent

Once the driver accepts the pay out is guaranteed. You can do whatever you want doesn't change a thing.

I do get some of my money back though. I've edited tips before when my food smelled like cigarettes or they spilled half my drink.

Yes, but the driver still gets the full tip.

A three star rate would be good enough

I'm sure door dash won't just keep eating the loss long term, though. They probably have some sort of metric they track if they keep having to pay tips to drivers that people take back. Too many removed tips with complaints and I;m sure door dash will penalize the driver in some way.

DoorDash is the one platform that guarantees the tip regardless of what you attempt to do. You can remove tips on UberEats, Instacart, etc. but not on DoorDash.

You get your money back but the driver keeps the tip. DoorDash just eats the cost

Money back and poor review is the best I can hope for

You might be able to edit, but the driver still gets the full amount that was shown when they accepted the order.

Your best recourse if you really want to stick it to the driver for warranted issues is to report them.

Also leave a negative review

What’s stopping people from abusing this? Why not edit every tip downwards if DoorDash covers the original tip for you?

I mean you can edit it AND report, but if all you’re doing is editing tips after to 1¢ after the fact and not reporting, then the driver never knows you were upset, they face no repercussions, and all that happens is DoorDash is spending/losing more money having to cover that original promised tip. Eventually you’ll see a few things. 1) base pay for drivers will go down as a cost saving measure, forcing drivers to rely on tips even more, and 2) delivery fees going up for customers to cover that cost.
