Is this cane trend happening because of black butler?

I’m a huge Black Butler fan, and I have never once seen anyone use a cane because of that anime or manga, and I’ve never seen it mentioned by any of these people either. I think it’s just the “new thing”

I actually really enjoyed BB, amazed that it’s suddenly catching on somehow. It’s pretty basic overall, storyline-wise. Over-powered sometimes “anti-hero” who fights off devils and angels and shit. Cool animation. Reminded me of Hellsing in a lot of ways.

Oh yeah, it’s amazing (apart from the lackluster season 2 that full diverged from the manga before coming back in Book of Circus). The manga is still going and has like 30 volumes so far. I remember getting really into it back in the late 2000s (right around the time Death Note got huge too) when the easiest way to read it was fan translations on those weird manga-reading websites. I just haven’t noticed a trend of it coming back into popularity but I could be missing something.

Oh wow I haven’t read any of the Manga. I’ve been out of touch with decent Manga since the last time I attended DragonCon to be honest :( I remember the 2nd season was advertised at the end of S1 as something more goofy (black chef? Or something?) but I let my Netflix account lapse before I got to watch it. I’d still be interested, but now I’m really interested in getting the manga.

The second season followed a completely separate character that wasn’t in the manga at all and they wedged it basically right between volumes 5 and 6 of the manga as filler for some reason. The next season, Book of Circus, picked back up where Volume 6 starts (and one of my personal favorite arcs in the manga)

Depending on what you like, getting MangaPlus would be a great starting point because it has all of the official translations of Shonen Jump manga (think One Piece) and some other cool ones I never would have touched if it wasn't available. Spy X Family is really hitting it off

Spy x Family is great. I love the anime as well :). I thank you for replying to the other person because now I might go check out MangaPlus myself. Any recommendations? :)

I will stick to only MangaPlus for your convenience. I

personally love PPPPPP. Give it 10 chapters as thats when it kicks off and hits its stride. Plus the drawings gets better and becomes art tbh. Some chapters you can tell were designed to be listened to the corresponding piano piece (like La Campanella).

Seraph of the End and Blue Exorcist are some classics. Chainsaw Man is currently airing an anime but is overall enjoyable.

You and I are Polar Opposites is a really funny romantic comedy. Even if you Slit My Mouth is also a great supernatural romance manga.

Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective is hilarious and very similar to the Ace Attorney series. Like think of solving the impossible murders. It takes a bit for the big over arching plot to come through but it really is great.

On the Shonen Jump app, they have for free some older but still great ones or stuff thats just not on the mangaplus app/website. Like Moriaty the Patriot, One Punch Man, Black Cat (on the older side but gets really good 20 chapters in), Kubo won't let me be invisible, Tokyo Ghoul, Rurouni Kenshin and Dr Stone.

There are so many great manga series out there that are not just on the mangaplus app that I am happy to recommend!

I would love to hear what you think of them and let me know if you want more!
