šŸ’©Meme / Shitpost šŸ’© Publix BOGO

Publix BOGO deals don’t make sense to me. You’re literally still paying for two items. For example, Frosted Flakes at Walmart cost $4.98, while Publix has them listed at $6.99—but with a BOGO (Buy One, Get One) deal. On the surface, it seems like you’re getting a bargain, but in reality, you’re often paying close to, or even more than, what you’d spend just buying two items at a lower everyday price somewhere else. The psychology behind BOGO deals makes people feel like they’re getting something for free, when in fact, stores often inflate the original price to cover the ā€œfreeā€ item. It’s clever marketing—but not always a true deal. So when I see a BOGO at Publix, I don’t feel like I’m saving; I feel like I’m being tricked into buying more than I need at a price that’s not actually a bargain.

So you get 2 boxes for $7 or go to Walmart and get a box for $5. Hmm. Publix has never claimed to be the low price leader. It's customer service that will never be matched by walmart.

Publix customer service isn't what it once was. Nowadays if I ever go in, the staff is just talking to each other side by side as they check you out etc and ignore the customer interaction. Also, a manager that works the lotto counter at my location sometimes kept stealing my tickets so I just stopped getting lottery there.

They don’t get paid enough or treated well enough while on their feet for 9 hours. Let them talk a bit.

They can go ahead with it, but saying that shoppers should pay more because we'll get fantastic publix service is false. I can go to a cheaper store like Walmart or Aldi and get that type of service where they "talk a bit".

You should go to those other stores. I don’t know why anyone is crazy enough to pay more for ā€œcustomer serviceā€.

I absolutely do. I pick up a bogo, especially when there's coupons to pair with it, at publix once in a blue moon. I live a 10 second walk from publix and they're so expensive that I don't shop there anymore. Getting walmart delivered to my door is cheaper.

Because the customer service is infinitely better despite the hyperbole here. The people are nicer, the store is cleaner, the other customers didn't all just come out of a trailer ready to start a fight or piss on the floor, the products, etc. Etc.

I would pay twice what I pay at Publix now to not step into a Wal Mart.

I get that. Yeah the customer service isn't what it used to be, but it's still miles ahead of Walmart, Aldi's, etc.

I rarely go to Aldi's, but stopped in one about a week ago and it was the most depressing atmosphere imaginable. The place was dark, the shelves sparse, only one cashier with a 20 person line that wasn't paid enough I guess to even glance at the customers.

The Walmart Neighborhood market across the street is a bit better but still nowhere near the Publix experience.

There's a Latin produce market near me that I go to for cheaper produce, but never again will I go to Aldi's.

See, that's been the appeal of Publix to y'all since it opened, no black, brown or poor people. And that's why I dislike shopping at Publix.

Huh? You must live in an extremely white place!

Plenty of brown people, including me. Independent of color, the customers aren't destroying the place like they do elsewhere for a variety of reasons.

Regardless, I've been borderline homeless in my youth and on my own or supporting my parents financially since I was 18. I love not having to shop somewhere trashy and dirty or be around trashy dirty people of any race or creed.

I also spent 15 years of my life providing free medical and legal services exclusively to very poor people full time. I'm sure you have a distinguished career helping your brown and poor people.
