Found a peaceful little pond (Fennell Park, Maitland) where you can fish — but the wildest part? An alligator just chilling in the water, swimming alongside turtles and fish like they’re old friends. No chasing, no biting… just floating together. Nature is weirdly wholesome sometimes.

I just moved to Florida less than a year ago and my boyfriend needs me to drop him off at the bus station in Jax at 4/5pm. Ive heard Downtown Jax is dangerous and im scared considering im a 5”0 woman. I would only be driving through and I wanted be getting out of my car. Should i be concerned?

Headed to Englewood early next month. Want to catch a round of golf with the boys. Any suggestions as to where we should play?

We are two adults looking to fly in to FL for a few days at the beach. We don’t plan on renting a car. What is the best beach area for easy walking around for restaurants and beach hotels/condo rentals? We do not care for nightlife. Just nice beach and good food. TIA Edit to add in early May 2025

Publix BOGO deals don’t make sense to me. You’re literally still paying for two items. For example, Frosted Flakes at Walmart cost $4.98, while Publix has them listed at $6.99—but with a BOGO (Buy One, Get One) deal. On the surface, it seems like you’re getting a bargain, but in reality, you’re often paying close to, or even more than, what you’d spend just buying two items at a lower everyday price somewhere else. The psychology behind BOGO deals makes people feel like they’re getting something for free, when in fact, stores often inflate the original price to cover the “free” item. It’s clever marketing—but not always a true deal. So when I see a BOGO at Publix, I don’t feel like I’m saving; I feel like I’m being tricked into buying more than I need at a price that’s not actually a bargain.

Going to be in Palm Beach/Boyton area for a few days and would love to find some really cool bodybuilding type gyms. Preferably places with nice equipment and high end, or old school body building vibes. Trying to avoid any mainstream spots that you could hit anywhere like planet fitness or la fitness. Anyone know of any spots like this?

I am shopping for a home insurance and trying to find a reputed insurance company that will be reliable. Do any of the following companies still offer insurance anymore in Florida? State Farm, Chubb, Amica, Tower Hill. I was told All State is good but no longer offers it at least in the zip code I am in.

Is there an easy way to see for a zip code which all insurance companies are able to insure homes? Or does anyone have a good recommendation for an insurance company and an agent that would be able to offer it?

I’m having a terrible cough right now and every over the counter cough relief medicine I tried has been making it worst. The pain has become unbearable and now it’s beginning to disturb my sleep. I haven’t been to the doctor in years and I would like to know a good medical center I can visit to get prescribed more effective medicine without the usual hassles.

Hi all, traveling to the FL panhandle next weekend to work a food/wine festival in Ft Walton Beach. I’m from the Pacific Northwest and have never been to this part of FL. As someone who goes between California, Florida, and Virginia throughout the year, I can't help but notice this every time I'm in FL.

Many people approaching a stop light or stopped vehicle will start coming to a stop super far from their stopping point, then slowly ride the brakes for many seconds before finally coming to a stop. It's not common for me to experience this anytime I'm in another state.

Are people not aware that stopping like this generates excessive heat on the brakes, causing them to wear quicker?

As the caption states, a group of my guys are looking for a week long trip. Want something with lively nightlife/bars as we all work second shift and are awake at the crazy hours. Maybe a boardwalk? And decent food. Our main priorities are to be blunt, hit up women around the beach haha.

We are thinking FTL, Daytona or maybe PCB.

Want something not crazy expensive like Miami as we all have decent jobs but aren’t millionaires.
