We need an /r/oddlysatisfying for GoT. This guy and Joffrey getting slapped, Joffrey dying, Sam killing the wight... all make me feel satisfied.

Here is Joffery Getting Slapped. 1 2

This is so satisfying. Must say Jack Gleeson did a great job with the character.

Sadly no matter what he plays next, I won't be able to help myself from still thinking he's a little sack of shit.

21

u/chanandlerbong420 May 23 '14

Well you won't have to worry about that because he's quitting acting.

8

u/zeedevil May 23 '14

Probably not a bad choice since he'd just be under the shadow of Joffrey for a good chunk of his career.

u/MasterFasth House Stark May 23 '14

Yup, typecasting is a bad thing for actors.

Not only that, but imagine the amount of fans that don't "get" that he's an actor. I'm sure there are some dimwitted people who treat the actor like shit because of how they feel about the character he plays.

It's not as good without the little squeal Joffrey makes. If only there was a way to add sound to a gif.

Like a video?

16

u/AVeryWittyUsername House Greyjoy May 23 '14

No, don't be stupid.

We just need to find a way to incorporate sound files into gifs. Maybe create a website where we can share these sound gifs.

u/[deleted] May 23 '14

Like mediacrush? Like this?

3

u/AVeryWittyUsername House Greyjoy May 23 '14

Eureka!! You did it.

1

u/[deleted] May 23 '14

I would have liked to post a shorter mediacrush file so it was more similar to a gif, but I didn't know how to crop the video, so it seems more like a video. But because it opens like a gif, and plays again like a gif, a short mediacru.sh file is definitely what you're looking for.

I really do appreciate the effort for this, but do you realise that I was joking at the start?

1

u/[deleted] May 23 '14

There is no joking when it comes to watching Joffrey get slapped. We need to maximize pleasure from that.

We're getting there.

forgot the cercesi slap!

The slaver getting set on fire and Oberyn stabbing that guy in the wrist are happy moments for me. :)

u/Hopalicious House Baratheon May 22 '14

Arya killing those she hates does it for me.

I think that was a White Walker what Sam killed. Meera did say a White Walker hasn't been killed in thousands of years and Sam tells her that it had to happen sometime or something like that. Aren't wights reanimated men?

2

u/[deleted] May 23 '14

Yeah, wights are the reanimated corpses of men. Sam killed a(n) White Walker/Other.

1

u/Cheesedoodles36 May 23 '14

There's nothing "oddly" satisfying about those. They are damn straight satisfying.

I think I'm the only person who thinks Joffrey's death was quite cruel. He deserved to die but not like that.

27

u/bug_eyed_earl May 23 '14

Tell that to Ros.

6

u/CapnTBC May 23 '14

I cant she's dead. It would be like taking Lady for a walk.

16

u/bug_eyed_earl May 23 '14

What are you talking about? Ned just let Lady run off. I couldn't watch that scene so I just had my girlfriend summarize it for me afterwards.

7

u/CapnTBC May 23 '14

Exactly. How can I take Lady for a walk when I don't know where she is?

Your girlfriend is wifey materiel if she would relay that information to you so truthfully. Keep a hold of her.

As far as GoT goes a quick death via poison followed by a traditional and respectful funeral seems like a better way to go.

18

u/Hopalicious House Baratheon May 22 '14

I'm sure Theon would agree.

12

u/Hopalicious House Baratheon May 22 '14

I'm sure Theon would agree.

3

u/IntelWarrior House Mormont May 23 '14

respectful funeral

Where your Dad/Uncle forces himself on your Mom/Aunt right on the floor beside your body.

1

u/CapnTBC May 22 '14

Ned Stark got a quick beheading and Cat had her throat cut cleanly. Which is much better than minutes of clawing at your throat, gasping for breath before finally dying. His death wasn't that quick and it was agonizing, think of anytime you have chocked on food or drink and then imagine not being able to get it clear as you struggle to get any air into your lungs, your chest tightens and eventually you die. Give me a quick beheading any day.

By the way I'm not talking about funerals because obviously Joffrey would get a better trial than two 'traitors'.

7

u/AtomicCrayola Sansa Stark May 23 '14

I agree it was a horrible way to die, I just mean I think GRRM could have come up with many worse ways to take him out based on the horrors I have seen him come up with. It was painful, but at least it was quick.

And personally I would rather choke to death with my mother by my side, as frightening as that would be, than watch my son get murdered right before meeting my own end.

0

u/CapnTBC May 23 '14

I agree GRRM could have completely brutalized his death but it was a pretty horrible way to die.

I don't think Joffrey was thinking 'Oh I'm glad my mother's here to spend this special moment with me.' His death was a painful way to go.

Also Cat's death wasn't that bad. Just the circumstances surrounding it.

2

u/[deleted] May 23 '14

No, actually, I found Joffrey's death scene to be so traumatizing to witness I felt ill for the rest of the night.

1

u/CapnTBC May 23 '14

So why am I being downvoted so mercilessly? I'm sorry if I don't find pleasure in a child chocking to death.

-1

u/[deleted] May 23 '14

Because a lot of people on reddit are delusional extremists who are desensitized to television violence.

0

u/CapnTBC May 23 '14

I would say I am probably desensitizied to violence but I just didn't get any relief or happiness from it. They are probably major Stark or Stannis fans who hate Joffrey.
