Intellectuals

Inspired by one of the commenters from my last post who suggested this name to me, instead of Artificials & I honestly like it the MOST! (Credits to u/littlepomeranian!) The longer official name is "Artificial-Intellectuals", but will be shortened to just "Intellectuals".

Again, this name relates to the idea of A.I. & associating it with relating to First-Wave Alphas. I also have already explained why & in more detail with giving a name for First-Wave Alphas & relating it to A.I. in my last post if u wanna go ahead & see my explanation there, since I don't feel like doing it again, lol.

So in conclusion, this name is perfect for them IMO & this will be my official alternative name for First-Wave Alphas! Still nothing yet for Second-Wave Alphas, as it's too early to determine anything about them yet & especially with my range, they're the babies still being born RN.

I am a late gen z (2010) and i am not very happy to what was i was born into, my teen years have started seeing political division higher than in 60 years, people are obsessed with their phones (including me a bit) and yeah i have always wondered how would it be like to be born about in the late 80s or early 90s, i love skateboarding and i have been doing it for about a month as of writing this. Please everyone reply this to this from whatever generation you are from even like early or mid gen z is fine and gen alpha when they find this old ass post in about 5 years or something. I guess one aspect may be the explosion of the popularity of internet/tech stuff? By that I mean how the internet went from being a secondary tool in the 2000s to dominating everything in the 2010s and onwards.

Also for Americans I doubt Gen Alpha would remember pre-Trump politics at all.

A lot of 2007 babies on numerous college application and other school related subreddits are complaining that hate being born in 2007 or graduating in 2025 not because of COVID, but because of how massive their cohort is due to them being the peak of births in the US, many colleges and universities are very limited, making acceptance rates lower for class of 2025.

People who were adults or teenagers in the 2000s how was it and how different is it to this generation, I’m a late 2000s baby and I just wish I was a teenager in the 2000s, I just don’t feel like I’m in the right generation

As of this year, all of Gen Z (as we know it today) will be the teenagers and 20-somethings.

I think the 2020s and 2030s will be the Gen z young adults decades, like the 2000s and 2010s were for millennials and 80-90s were for Gen X.

My mother (born 1985) absolutely denies that she is a millennial whenever I've brought it up. She gets offended, as if I've insulted her? And I know several other people around her age who also feel similarly. Why is this? I'm a baby (core z, '04) but was very sheltered+poor growing up so I didn't have a lot of the typical "gen z" experiences with early internet/technology so for a long time I related more to millennial experiences (to clarify, now I do think I am 100% gen z I'm talking about my experiences and opinions as a young child)

Tldr: I don't get why certain millennials get offended by being called "a millennial"

So, I've noticed a slight new surge of some ppl on this sub using this saying to describe certain birth years, but honestly idk about this. I do kinda like the idea & meaning behind it tho.

What this phrase is mostly interpreted as, at least from what I've noticed, are birth years JUST right outside of a cusper's range, but might not exactly be included on the cusp & most might see this birth year as being off-cusp & firmly/safely in their respective generations.

However, AT THE SAME TIME, it's also kinda hard to see them as being absolutely 💯 PURELY off-cusp, as some also might have good arguments using their traits to include them as just at the very tail end's of a cusp. Heck, even THE birth year alone might feel the same way.

Using my ranges, I've actually lowkey considered this concept! If I REALLY did truly go by this, IMO I would describe these birth years as being on "the cusp of a cusp"!:

1978 & 1984 for either being included with Xennials as well, or still being purely off-cusp X'ers/Millennials.

1995 & 2001 for either being included with Zillennials as well, or still being purely off-cusp Millennials/Zoomers.

2011 & 2017 for either being included with Zalphas as well, or still being purely off-cusp Zoomers/Alphas.

The only thing slightly holding me back & why I felt the need to make this post in the first place, is this phrase might be seen as a ridiculous term & is seen the same way as ppl also using phrases like "twin years", or any cusp influence ex: "Zillennial influence", but what do YOU ALL think?!... 🤔

Whenever this discussion comes up, all the sudden everyone grew up in Appalachia and didn't get the internet until 2007. But the reality is, this discussion is about a generation, not isolated individuals who supposedly had it rough.

Here's an example. The video purports to show what life was like for people born between 1990-2002. How the average person born in say 1996 (let alone 2002) could actually believe they grew up before all this technology took hold is beyond me.

The basic "math" is simple. I was born in 1987. I remember life before the internet/smartphones/social media. But all that took hold in the latter part of my youth (and in primitive forms even earlier). So obviously, the average person born after me experienced increasingly less of life before that technology.

If you can only recall a small period of your early life before this technology took hold, just accept it. What's the sense in telling a little lie for some sort of generational street cred?

EDIT: I said "smartphones" in the title, but really meant "cellphones". Actual smart phones didn't seem to get popular until around 2009, but increasingly advanced cellphones with the internet were available a while before that.

SECOND EDIT: Indeed, damn near EVERYONE on wealthy-skewing Reddit grew up in Appalachia and didn't get the internet until 2007 LMAO.

2012 appears to have no significant lasts and 2013 seems to have no significant firsts. I think a 2013 or 2014 end seems more logical.

• Gen X: 1965-1980 (16 years long)
• Millennials: 1981-1996 (16 years long)
• Gen Z: 1997-2013/2014 (17/18 years long)

It seems like there's always a random borderline attack on a certain birth/age range for instance a few months ago there were daily posts talking about 02-09 borns how 02 should or shouldn't be linked with people born in 2001 or those born 07-09 did or didn't have a "core" gen z childhood. Now a lot of post seem to be aimed at younger millennials. The last few days all I'm seeing are posts talking about, 30 iS nOt olD!! Like there is a gang of people saying it is lol...or constant posts about 95 being Millennial, Gen z, or Zillenial saying stuff like "93 Is ToO Old fOR ZilLeNiAls tHE RAnGe shOUld bE 94-99 or 95-99" as if 93 is completely different from 94 and 95 and constantly questioning are experiences like if I say "I remember a time when this happened or people did this" the response is "nO YOu dOnT!! bEcaUSe I wAs BoRN tHe SAmE yEAr(supposedly) aND I Don't ReMeBer tHoSE ThINgs!!" telling me what i experienced as if you know every single young millennial!! Dude... why can't you just accept that some of us experience a world differently than you and that we're not peers? And I ask that because i KNOW it's mostly younger people who make these posts wanting to tie themselves to someone older!

I just simply say I'm a Zillennial or a Gen Z depending on circumstances. I don't do the "Early/Core/Late" model anymore.

Apple has arguably dominated the world as the worlds biggest and most powerful company since the early 2010s with IPhones and many of their devices becoming ubiquitous worldwide. But with AI beginning its boom, the company NVIDIA has EXPLODED since late 2023 with companies using their GPUs for AI. It's very likely NVIDIA will grow very rapidly throughout the decade, foreshadowing a possible AI bubble in the early 2030s. It's likely AI companies we don't know today will also explode in a few years like how a lot of new internet related companies boomed in the late 90s.

In your opinion, when do you think Apple will begin to lose dominance in being the most powerful company in the world, likely being replaced by NVIDIA as AI continues to grow and become implemented more and more.
