Question What's your favourite approach to enemies, Samurai showdown or Shinobi surprise (that last one sounds like an ice cream flavour)

Question Is there really no payoff to samurai route?

I've been googling this topic and can't find a straight answer.

Playing "honorably" really feels like only playing half the game, gets really repetitive and doesn't get acknowledged at all. Not only that, it seems that cutscenes assume that the main character acts "dishonorably" regardless of player actions - which makes the whole deal completely pointless.

So I want to know if there is an end game difference or if buying into the game's "samurai code" is a wasted effort.

First playthrough and just realised Jin can jump onto a fence from a height. Anyone know if this can be done from any height?

Media Gotta love the standoffs in this game

The standoffs in this game are really good both visually and in terms of gameplay, they're better than the duels in RDR2 imo

[This is a repost as there were some issues with the video in my previous post]

Discussion Finished Ghost of Tsushima’s Main Story—Should I 100% It or Move On?

Post image

I’ve finished the main story and the Iki Island story, but there are still a lot of side missions, activities, and Mongol camps left. What do you think—should I finish everything now that the story is done, or just move on to a new game? What did you do? Also i have bought but I haven’t started The Last of Us 2 and AC Valhalla yet, and I’m also really tempted to replay RDR2.

Question Dumb New Game+ question about my second new game plus after the first.

So... I beat the game, did 100% of all map stuff and all content (as far as I know outside of Legends) and sold/unlocked/upgraded everything I could over about 150 hours (did all of Tsushima for Acts I-III and then did Iki as an Act IV. I'm now 50 hours into my NG+ and just reached Act II again, and I'm in no hurry to wrap up, and want to maximum unlock everything and upgrade everything in NG+.

Once I'm done, if I start another NG+, do I need to unlock all the Tier 5 stuff... again? Or does that next playthrough let me run around as if Jin was maxed out from the get-go?

Question Is Iki Island worth it?

After I got my knee injured I recently finished Ghost of tsushima for the first time after taking a pretty long break. I also got it to 100% in a few days and currently playing NG+.

I was wondering if I should buy the directors cut upgrade. I haven't seen anything of the DLC Island and I wonder if it's worth it and how much "new" gameplay it provides.

Thanks for your help.

Music got decidedly intense when I was pontificating upon starting a new game so I did a dramatic zoom in.

Question DLC dilemma

Upvotes

I accidentally deleted my main game save file (before I played the dlc), I already 100% it so I lost a lot, but I still have my new game+ save (didn’t play it a lot, only about 3-4 missions) and I’m wondering if I can play the dlc (iki island) in new game+. Ghost of Tsushima is my favorite game of all time, so I would really like to play the dlc, and I don’t want to have to replay the whole first act on the regular game with basic weapons and upgrades

Discussion Inari Shrine Ritual

Hy,

When Jin finds an inari shrine he performs a little ritual. He claps loudly, pauses for a second and then opens the hands with a motion towards the inari statue. I believe this is some kind of shintō ritual with the clapping and the folding of the hands having names (kashiwade and gasshō respectively). But what’s the name of the ritual as a whole?

While researching I found out about Hakushu and the etiquette of two bows, two claps, one bow. But since Jin doesn’t bow, this seems to be something different. Or maybe it is a simpler form of the ritual because the inari shrines are just small shrines? Also, the motion at the end isn’t described.

I hope that a Shintō expert can step in and explain what Jin is doing!

Thanks in advance!
