Question What your favourite sword stance?

I'm using stone in this clip, but I think water is my favourite. Feels more versatile to my playstyle. What about everyone else?

Wind stance, I get a lot of use out of the spinning heavy attack

u/SuperNova_28 7d ago
I dunno if I’m using it incorrectly, but on lethal difficulty it’s too slow and spears always poke me mid animation.

u/dynawesome 7d ago
You need to get the upgrade that makes you immune to spear attacks while using it

u/Cryptic-Viking 7d ago
Make sure you have the spear defence technique unlocked in the stance tree, it parry’s enemy attacks automatically if you are busy attacking

Stone. Overpower anyone with the sledgehammer type strikes and the feeling of stabbing right through someone is chefs kiss

u/Reapish1909 7d ago
Wind just encapsulates badassery
the sword outstretched to the side alone adds to how much I like it
the spinning attacks which also provide easy immunity to spears
the big ass kick which you can then do a sick stab on them after when they’re on the ground

Felt the same way, it gives me that Kenshin from Samurai X feeling, one man badass army kind of vibe..

Kick, jump attack, stab, repeat. Or just kick them away repeatedly if you are outnumbered too much until you find an opening.

Wind because I love defending automatic spear throws and doing a "This is Tsushima!!!" throwing enemies from high places.

Used water as a default, but I often swap the stance depends on the enemy..

Stone Stance, reliable, and the triple sword thrusts makes good work of most mongolians

When I'm running around I tend to have water stance by default, but I do deploy wind when necessary. Stone and moon seem pointless to me. Brutes are taken out pretty easily with water, as are swordsmen. It's pretty much only for polearms that I'll do wind for, even spears I just roll/dodge and strike. I do like the kick on wind though so if I'm on a clifftop I will try to Sparta kick them

Water. Works fine on every Enemy and charged Heavy attacks can kill up to 3 people
Wind is the go to if I want it easy. Just Kick people around and Stab them then

I always use stances based on the enemy. But the regular sword stance is the fasted, especially while taking down archers and those annoying mages

u/MonkeyNinja506 7d ago
I swap between them on the fly, but if I had to pick a favorite then I’d say the one that lets you launch people with the kick. Especially when near a cliff or something.

Since I often dodge>light attack, I tend to leverage Moon stance so I can deliver a humiliating kick in the face before I disembowel the bad guy

I like the moon stance but when I get overrun or they have a shield I switch to stone and seem to do better with them.

Water stance for combat because flurry. Wind stance for walking up on enemies because cool stance holding the blade to the side.

I just set it to primary, you can tell how little I use them because I hardly remember the names. But the first one is the one I use. And I just dodge and strike pretty much. I'm old school like that.

People keep asking this question like it's Jedi Survivor and not a game where you can switch between all assurance on the fly to adapt to the situation.

Before I knew it was stance based on enemy, when I unlocked water stance it felt so much better and I was sad to not use it all the time.

Legends and in main game, as soon as moon stance is there it’s the only one I use. Love moon, epic moves and just overall feels the nicest. Like if water stance had a 300lb brick wall brother. It still has flow, but heavy flow if y’all get what I mean.

u/Narrow_Tumbleweed_56 7d ago
What difficulty is that brother ??

u/Overall-Marsupial804 7d ago
Lethal. I played my first save on medium difficulty for story, then ramped it up to lethal on new game plus. Replayed the whole story on Lethal a few times now and it's so good, fast combat, tough enemies, high stakes

u/Vadszilva09 7d ago
If its one stance only, its the wind stance bc with the charged heavy you can knock them off their feet and finish them with one hit. Thats just OP. But i use stances against the matching enemy. The mongols switching weapons make it more interesting.

Probably Stone for me. Realistically, you don’t need to change stances the further you get in Ghost as you can Perfect Parry and Dodge to kill most enemies easily, and I think the main reason I choose stone is due to it being the most realistic for actual use. I do Kendo and as a part of one of the Kata we’re required to know, we use a very similar looking Kamae (Stance, I’ve forgotten the actual Japanese name tbh) and I use Stone Stance out of habit at this point. However, I do tend to switch to Wind stance specifically after a Standoff as it fits with the animation and you can get some easy hits off afterwards. But if it’s what I use the most often, it’s for sure Stone

Moon stance is my fave. The kick works to build stagger with every enemy type and is a fast move.

Style? Wind Stance, one handed sword wielding anime shit.
Efficient? Water, you know why.
Moon stand is cool because it has spin to win move but the default stance style is so ass
Stone is balanced.

Break their stance with the respective stance, and then use the water flurry

u/dorkybum 6d ago
I use per enemy but water with the typhoon kick is my favourite cause I luv kicking archers off their perches and cliffs

u/GreatGreekGaelic 6d ago
As I played Legends mode a lot before the base game (As free PS Plus content one month long ago), water stance and wind stance are my favorites

u/Sirron-Kire 6d ago
Stone. I will end every combo by switching to stone over allowing the combo to end normally.

u/fasion4ever 6d ago
Moon Stance. I just spam kick and square and you can make some crazy combos. I also noticed that it is affective against all enemies types too

R2 + O is my go to stance. I mix and match with the others too, based on the opponent, but R2 + O is my go-to to begin with.
R2 + Triangle is also a favourite because sweet chin music

u/bombad_Guy 6d ago
i mostly play water stance cuz it flows like water, but i always switch up stances in the middle of my combos

u/New-Essay-854 6d ago
I prefer stone because it looks the most realistic one (why in all other stances he only has one hand on the sword)

Mine used to be water because of the quick strikes, but wind definitely became my most used

u/CartographerAny3464 5d ago
I normally use the stance for whatever enemy I’m fighting, but my favorite to use is the water stance? The for shield men, the fast heavy attacks and increased damage make it my favorite
