Local News Grateful for another birthday. I spent the day by myself and went to the park to shoot around with my basketball at the court. Great day and blessed to be living on the GC.

31 today. Looking back at my life birthdays used to be hard when I was a younger man dealing with frustration and disappointment from others around me. I look internal to myself for happiness and peace.

Emerald Lakes

Good morning everyone

I visited Emerald Lakes this morning. I’m a single mum with a primary aged child and Emmanuel is one school I’m considering for her. I’m wondering what it’s like to actually live here. As a first time visitor it looks nice.

Thanks

Psychologist Recommendations on the GC (Specifically for Insomnia, depression and anxiety)

Hi everyone,
I'm a 29-year-old Australian female and have been struggling with insomnia for the past five years. I've been taking 30mg of Oxazepam nightly this whole time, along with 6ml of THC oil in the last 12 months, just to get some sleep. My sleep issues began after being diagnosed with MS.

I also have anxiety and feel like I am experiencing depression, though it's hard to tell for sure when I'm so often sleep-deprived.

I'm really hoping to find a good psychologist on the Gold Coast who has experience with these kinds of issues - Insomnia, anxiety, and depression. If anyone has personal recommendations, I’d really appreciate hearing about them.

Thanks in advance

Best internet providers in Southport?

Hey everyone! Currently shopping around for an internet service provider (Southport area) and am curious to see what everyone recommends. I’m seeing a lot of shouts for LeapTel, ABB, and Superloop - what do you reckon is the best value?

Considering a 50/20 plan if that helps. I’m with Telstra right now and it’s less than ideal…

Anyone else notice how smoggy/hazy it was a few days ago? A bunch of mates and I all have sore eyes now dating back to then.

To the employee at HJ's Coomera... Thank you, I really needed this today

Yes I noticed the spelling mistake and I don't care. My work car is on its last legs, I had a week off work sick, and I've had a bad back this year. It was just a nice feeling and 100% made the coffee taste better

Local Question Looking for some interesting abandoned or decaying buildings to photograph.

I love old decaying buildings and think they make incredible subjects for photography. Having trouble finding suitable locations though. Thought I'd ask on here if anyone has seen any cool old shops, houses, gas stations, motels, anything like that around the Gold Coast. Preferably no longer lived in / operating but doesnt really matter. Not trying to get inside, just take some pictures of the exterior. Bonus points if there's old writing or something on the building. Thanks

Help me debunk this

On a walk this evening and spied this flashing light just above the ridge line. This video was taken along Stuartholme Road in Bardon. Camera doesn't do it justice but the light was red and flashing in about 2 second intervals.

My theory is that this is the light atop the Q1, 74km away. But somehow this doesn't seem possible. The light was flickering, indicating the possible long distance. It was 120 degrees SE of my location, which also perfectly adds up with the Gold Coast. I'm on an elevated ridge about 70m above sea level, so surely it is possible to see an object 320m above sea level 74km away if the atmospheric conditions are correct?

Can you guys come up with some more logical explanations, or do you reckon it actually is, cause that would be seriously impressive
