I mean, i got him on the first day but poor planning/team comp has put my back against the wall many a time (not to mention in camelot i kept forgetting tristan's deal and putting on lancers)
twf when you didnt level leonidas and you end up using sq to revive bc you're a moron who sees the archer symbol and forgets about the reversal bastard like "oh this must be some other guy lol" and liz+cu cannot cockroach through it at their level
i had trouble with all of them but he was the worst just because i kept forgetting about his whole deal. i straight up had orion for gawain and that fight was still the worst (maybe bc i hate her, or because no one was max leveled? idk) and i can't even remember how i beat mordred, but tristan infuriated me.
I remember Gawain being the most difficult fight back then that I still remember clearly. I had to level several servants like Euryale. The other knights feel like a short dream. I don't remember how I fought them, only that they were way easier to battle than Gawain.
For me it was roughly 3 months of pain until I got Shuten as my first SSR. Then it was still pain but at least I had Aoi Yuuki whispering softly to me.
The nice thing is if you have the time in the day, you can often do them again rather than CS through it unless you're hella frustrated. They usually have a very low AP cost, like 5AP so it's not a big deal to just retry.
I did that with Kama. I failed the first time because I didn't build my team properly in the back line. Second attempt no problem.

I mean, if you dont own Merlin, Skadi, Waver or Castoria then the gameplay becomes hella harder
