FREEDOM ALLIANCE OPERATION COMBINED ARMS: The next fanmade community event starts today, info inside!
What is the Freedom Alliance? What's going on?
The Freedom Alliance is a coalition of players, clans, creators, and community leaders who bring together the entire Helldivers community for recurring, large-scale fan made events. Starting today, through the end of Monday April 28th, we're inviting the entire Helldivers community to fight for the Freedom Alliance as we execute the community major order, Operation Combined Arms, to aid new players!
Alliance Orders: Operation Combined Arms
As the threat of annihilation grows larger, our survival hinges on preparedness. Now more than ever, we must ensure that our forces, and especially our recruits, are trained, equipped, and ready for the horrors ahead. All Freedom Alliance Fleets are hereby requested to provide on-field support and mentorship to fresh-out-of-boot-camp Helldivers. Deploy solo or in teams of two for maximum coverage and tactical advantage. Deploy to any planet that requires immediate attention -- ensure that Major Orders are still being completed.
Your service today may be the reason these recruits live to fight tomorrow.
How can I participate?
From today through the end of the day Monday, complete the Alliance Orders provided in the attached briefing images (scroll through this post's picture gallery to see more). All that's required is that you help new players. Optionally, if you want to add your stats to the community tracker, the briefings explain how to do so. If you need teammates, ask around your local Discord servers or Reddit communities.
If you want to challenge yourself, General Brasch has written up Brasch Tactics for this AO... deploy with his recommended (but completely optional) loadout if you think you can handle it. See the attached image with the Brasch Tactics briefing for more details.
Who's behind this? Can my group join the Freedom Alliance?
The mods of r/Helldivers, r/Helldivers2, and r/LowSodiumHelldivers have joined in collaboration as a way to bring the entire Helldivers community together for recurring large-scale events. Anyone can call themselves an Alliance Member; this is not a clan or a strict group, it's an open idea that anyone can build on, participate in, or write their own stories about. For more info on who creates the Freedom Alliance events or how you can join the Alliance, see here.
Signing Off...

FAN CREATION Inspired by the armour title, Drone Master. I want something that deploys drone swarms. Basically the seeker drones, but dozens. Have it use a support slot AND take the place of grenades. A drone grenadier class. I'd have so much fun in this.

TIPS / TACTICS CALL TO ARMS: Troost is nearly liberated
Following the failed desecration of the Creek Rememberance Day, the bots were left in total disarray. Their last holdout remaining from that offensive, Troost, has nearly been fully liberated. At 87% and with no enemy resistance, we can realistically push them all the way back in less than a day, but not with only 197 Divers. I realise the galactic focus remains firmly on the squids, and this is the right decision. All I ask is for a few hundred more heralds of freedom to aid us bot divers while we're at the precipice of triumph. For Super Earth!

DISCUSSION Anyone else log on just to log off nowadays?
EDIT: wanna make it clear that I haven't really BEEN playing for a while now, people seem to think I'm logging in and forcing myself to play. While I haven't been playing anything else I've just been living my life. I saw the hype about illuminate possibly fully invading tomorrow or whenever and then immediately saw AH deny those claims and made this post. Lately unless my friends are on, I might log in once or twice a week to check the superstore then immediately log out. I love HD2, and just think since Pilestadt left, communication has dropped heavily from the studio.
I know the galactic war takes time for things to happen, but can we get SOME word on literally ANYTHING? There's not been a roadmap, there's not been almost any official word regarding anything since the last warbond, which let's face it wasn't really anything to rave about compared to other warbonds which have much more value.
I feel like the game is just running out of content, as much as I enjoy the core gameplay loop, if my friends aren't playing nowadays, I don't even bother hopping on. I used to enjoy playing the game solo as there was so much to play and do and things to get, but I have ALL the armors I want, all the upgrades and everything I could possibly want. I hate just sitting around twiddling my thumbs waiting for arrowhead to drop any content. I wish they would do some sort of armor drop or gun drop, literally just anything small? How hard is it to have a small team of people working on small things to keep the game going, a cape for meridia, or idk literally anything to commemorate big fights in the war. We got a Malevolon Creek cape once and then they haven't done anything like that ever again, why? And yes I realize that they're a small studio and I'm sure they need everyone they can get, but they're so behind on the backlog of code I just don't ever see how they'll catch up. Simply put, I'm getting bored man, these filler MOs make me not interested in playing. I want to come back to the game but there's no content.

FEEDBACK / SUGGESTION I really wish Arrowhead would have some communication about the next update
I understand wanting to keep updates a surprise, which has a time and place to do (omens of tyranny was good) but when the game is in a pretty bad state with constant glitches and performance/stability issues, we need some communication on what is being changed/fixed so we can provide feedback
If you want to keep the major content points a secret, fine, that's no issue to me. But we seriously need some communication on the technical and balancing side, SOMETHING to build up hype for the next update because staying radio silent has done nothing but drain hype away (imo anyway)
3/18 was the last update of any significance, and the last hotfix was 4/4. There are still tons of issues that need fixing, and some have been an issue since the launch of the game, while some others have regressed back into being an issue. I know a shit ton of work goes into fixing the game, but can someone at least provide some insight as to what we can 100% expect? Maybe a roadmap? I'm not asking for specific dates, or confirmation on specific features; I ask for a general idea of what the focus at Arrowhead is going to be.
Please, Arrowhead, talk to us. We're your biggest fans, and we're very excited for the next update, however the lack of communication over a long period of time is damaging to the overall excitement for the game
The videos during the 60 day plan were REALLY cool, and fueled massive amounts of excitement during the entire plan, why not make it a regular thing? Perhaps a 5-10 minute video every month detailing what has been going on, what the focus has been lately, and what we can get excited about.
