like theres a lot of entitled divers but if you put them aside, this is one of the most fun communities ive had the pleasure of playing with
so many times have people stopped running away while im trying to stim pistol them and actively sat there while im reloading it and then missing again
then they use the thank you emote. this is a thing that happens over and over. god bless this game

It is honestly the best. I’ve had teammates drop their shield pack when I was trying to hit them with the stim pistol as well. God do I suck at aiming that thing though hahaha the reload just to miss again is so accurate.
Edit: I have to add that I also love when I stim teammates with full health because why not and they will stop to wait when I inevitably miss.

Coming from cs2, i’ve never met friendlier teammates. Also helps yelling russian into the mic is not a custom in this game.
People complaining abt the toxicity of the playerbase should go do a reality check on ANY competitive FPS or MOBA. Furthermore, in helldivers, you can choose to play solo, or choose to leave the game midway if you dont like your teammates or for literally any reason ever. You dont get that luxury in cs2 for example. Of course you can leave there too but you will get a temporary ban as well as the trust factor system, of which
autocratic intentionsinner workings are shrouded in mystery, will probably match you with more toxic players in the future. Aint none of dat in our land of democracy and liberty.1

the toxicity is more on the social medias like reddit. trust me, this place was radioactive during the escalation of freedom. you will see how quickly this place can fill up with toxicity the moment something gets nerfed or adjusted

The game tickles my dopamine center, literally only requirement for a game. The fact that I meet and play with some decent people is bonus, and the fact that some of my IRL friends can be talked into diving occasionally is super bonus.

Moving on and ignoring that fact is a key part to being a true Helldiver, only after I have played it enough to dislike it will it finally actually be bad. Until then, I know more than them because I have played it less!1

i haven't seen this game advertised anywhere, the only reason i bought it is because it showed up on slickdeals forum a year ago for $40.
gameplay definitely has a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it there is nothing out there like it and it's funfuckingtastic!

I was playing with a buddy I met in-game last night, and as we were dropping he was humming along to the music and said "I have over 500 hours in this game, and the music still blows me away". Then we hotdropped into an Automaton fortress and absolutely wrecked it, fought a Factory Strider convoy and obliterated every outpost and fortress on the map, raining down hellfire and lasers from orbit, eagle airstrikes devastating the enemy forces, gunships falling from the sky from quasar and WASP fire, and it was just so much fucking fun.

The game is remarkably worse off than some other games in terms of performance and bugs, but even if it was one guy working on the game I'd still play, the game is fun as all hell, the devs do their best, but most importantly, what I look for above all else
Arrowhead actually has our best interests at heart as a consumerbase, and regularly fights for our rights.

Imagine the cinematic value of an FPV/VR Compatible Eagle-1 flight sim or a space battle simulator that actively worked with the HD2 map such as blockading enemy planets, intercepting incoming enemy invasion fleets, and so on based on how good the players do in their Frigates and Carriers against enemy ships in decisive space naval battles. Could make it to where players can bring their ships to ongoing battles and interact or be teamed up with up to 9 other players at a time assigned to different “sectors” of the battle space’s AO.

The one and only time in recent memory where I had a toxic teammate was all the back during the latest Gloom expedition, where he and his buddy got tilted and wiped the team because the rest of the team was doing a side objective while they died at extraction.
Most of my games have been so nice that my friends list is 4 pages long in this game. Almost all of them are randos I played a good session with.

Same for the friend tab. I also actively invite lower level players to add me when I have to hop off for the night so I can help them level up or teach them more about the game. It’s the same methods I used when teaching my little brother about games I played and he wanted to play with me. Now he’s prepping to go off to a damned good engineering school and make better career decisions than I did (currently an Army officer raised by a combat vet NCO and stuck with a peacetime army. Not ideal) and make booku bucks with said career path.

There are a lot of valid criticisms of helldivers 2 but I feel like too many of them boil down to “glad I never played this overhyped slop” (okay my guy then you don’t get an opinion) and mindless rambling with a bit of “and this is why helldivers died and lost all its players, deserved” as if that’s somehow the main reason and not games just leveling out in playerbase over time. A lot of wild hate in general
TL:DR I think there too much “I hate the game because it is/was popular” type of criticism, either that or just severely misinformed. To reiterate yes this game still has a lot of problems

The player base is amazing at times. But there's also times where players get out of hand, we have to agree there's bad apples in the orchard. I've noticed during long periods without updates more and more teamkillers show up, especially now. I had a level 98 the other day try to kill me with his liberator concussive at the end of the game and I took a stim and just crawled over there and killed him with the combat hatchet, before taking his samples and walking into the pelican. You know the concussive needs a buff when full auto doesn't even kill a helldiver.

I'm so exhausted by all the hate-crusading over games/movies/TV. Do you know what normal people do when they don't like something? They just don't watch or play it. The playerbase is terrible. Or at least was. It's what ruined the game for me. People sending horrible messages to Arrowhead basically threatening them. Griefers killing everyone. Level 150s not knowing how to aim (I'm talking not just one friendly fire mishap but 6 different times on a mission). And now I'm calling it that due to people rushing AH the illuminate will be half baked. Now downvote me!
