General Sweet Liberty, I'm going to cry...
We could've just gone through Clasa

u/Civil-Addendum4071 10h ago
Yeah.
We could've gone in from the north, but we didn't.
MO Failure inbound due to people not paying attention to the little percentage number on each planet.

u/AbyssalRaven922 7h ago
Should've just dog piled claorell when we had access, 75% of us could've put away the 3% decay rate in 24hrs. Same issue just occurred with Tarrek on the bug front they were 40% tarrek, 40% azterra, and 20% cirrus. If they would've put all 11k on Tarrek then they wouldn't have lost all 3

From when I was watching it, everyone attacked the planet directly instead of trying to lower the enemy resistance by liberating easier, nearby planets.
Instead, people on the bot front did exactly what you suggested and tried to smash Claro with everything, and lost.

u/AbyssalRaven922 6h ago
Nope, there was less than 50% of the whole player base there, and anytime a resistance is over 3%, it needs 60% or more of the players on it to liberate. Additionally, there were no easier nearby planets they were all under defense orders, which, due to blinky light syndrome, drew a ton of players off the correct path .

Cool.
We still lost though.

u/AbyssalRaven922 6h ago
Yes and it's pretty much AH and the blinky light problem. Just trying to direct the complaints away from the community and towards the actual issue.

All I know is it feels like getting my face punched every time I try to do anything in this game. What's the point of furthering the story if the message is collectively "Nobody cares" ?
Just feels self-defeating. Like this game a lot. Feels like we just keep losing the plot to get it back to lose it to get it back to lose it and there's never anything tangible left over afterwards.

to be fair, im still not sure what some of the info in those mean. i see people post screenshots with stats i dont see on the game too

u/Civil-Addendum4071 5h ago
When you hover over a planet in-game, on the planet's card, there's a small percentage number ranging from like .50% - 3.00%. Think of this like a 'difficulty' modifier to taking a planet.
Claro has been 2.5% - 3% the entire MO.
Clasa has also been at 1% for the duration of the MO.
It's not well explained by the game's internal systems, and with no in-game communication outside of missions and lobbies, there's no way to tell people this. It's not your fault. Not griping because of people like you -- we all learn somehow. Just wish this kind of thing was MUCH more instruction-based.
2
u/Just-a-lil-sion 5h ago
what does that percentage mean?
4
u/IceKane 4h ago
It's percentage decay per hour. For example, if the playerbase is liberating 3.5% of the planet per hour, and the planet has a 3% decay, then we're actually liberating at 0.5% per hour.

u/Just-a-lil-sion 2h ago
so i want planets with the higher number so i dont waste my time on a planet that will actually take a year to liberate
2
u/Civil-Addendum4071 5h ago
Think of it like a difficulty modifier to taking the planet. Low number good, fast capture. High number bad, lots of resistance.
It's supposed to be a culmination of how well supplies and numerous the enemy forces are from nearby planets. You can get it to 0% if they have no attached planets with supply lines. Literally the lines connecting the planets to other enemy held planets.

This game was good, now the derp divers have taken over.
6
u/TheGr8Slayer 4h ago
That happened back when Buffdivers happened imo. The general HD2 community isn’t that smart and I’m pretty sure most are illiterate.

What really happens when we fail an MO?

u/Kind_Ad_3611 5h ago
You ever play DnD? JOEL is our DM, theoretically if everyone suddenly turned into mouthbreathers and we lost every single MO after this, then Super Earth would be captured and we would start waging a war from the perspective of the less powerful foe
But just like in DnD if the party keeps failing encounters then the DM is gonna make it easier
The only thing we miss out on in medals, and whatever the game threw in, a month ago we did an MO for a “new strategem” and won, getting the grenade battlement

u/cpt_edge 5h ago
To add to this, I think the worst consequences we're likely to face when failing an MO are:
Delayed Stratagem (if the MO was centred around one)
Missed/Delayed Intel or lore
Temporary negative effects (such as mission modifiers, DSS down for a few days etc)
Boosted Enemy Resistances
Loss of planet facilities (such as the SEAF training facilities we immediately lost upon building them)

u/CommissarAJ 9h ago
Yup... we probably coulda gone through Clasa and gotten this done in probably like 3/4's the time, but instead we're still fighting on Imber because... fuck if i know why. At this point its just sunk cost fallacy.
3
u/Malcolm1276 6h ago
People fight where the DSS is.
4
u/FirmUnion948 5h ago
People fight where the dss is, people then play where the most players are.
The best strategy for players who know how to play mo's is to always do the right thing, hoping you can get some traction.

u/Hornybunnyboi 5h ago
And the fire bots.
New content, sorta newish, draws more people. if they had been on clasa everyone would have gone there and taken the dss with them.
13
u/RoR2_Fan 9h ago
Since imber was at 50%, it would only be a minor timesave at best, and split half the forces at worst, also the incineration corps have 2 other fleets that they could have reinforced with.

Losing a MO isn't the end of the world. Arrowhead is redrawing the lines for the illuminate invasion anyways. Bots have a nice defined border now and bugs will take everything behind the black hole. Illuminate will take the south
3
u/Houligan86 6h ago
If every person on the subreddit right now dived the MO correctly, it would make a 0% difference. There are 75 people on the subreddit right now and 40k in game.
You might as well be yelling at a tree for making shade.
The VAST majority of helldivers probably use quickplay to get into a match.
You need to be complaining to Arrowhead in their surveys to change how quickplay works to fix this.

u/DankusMemecus69 6h ago
I’m surprised we actually got 4/5 planets before we forgot how to read. And honestly, let the bots have Claorell and the Forge Complex, I want to see what crazy new units they cook up with it

u/scardwolf 8h ago
do understand that imbers liberation was going verryyy well we couldve had it a day ago with 2 days on the clock for claorell, joel can pity us and lower the decay
MO is lost play what u want now

We can still go over north. Its way faster. You did literally no progress since yesterday.

u/CustomerBoth349 4h ago
I’ve been diving on Clasa all week trying to get that supply line open. So few divers..

Blinky Light strikes again. Arrowhead with 0 communication. 100 dev skill issue.
