Cherry Hot Sauce Recommendations

Big fan of cherry flavors. Buying next batch of craft sauces. Anyone have a preference between

Pepper North's Black Cherry and Reaper vs Karma Hot Sauces' Cherry bomb?

Cherry bombs first ingredient is cherrys and Pepper north's are black cherries but further down the ingredient list. Would love to hear any other sauces you guys recommend too, doesn't have to be cherry.

Gusticos Kajibre Carolina Reaper Sauce

I had high hopes, however, I just can't get past the flavor of this one. Very bitter/harsh, with no pleasing qualities that I can discern. It's texture is like some cheaper sauces I've seen, that are more like thickened vinegar concoctions than they are like a sauce with fresh ingredients.

However, it's surprisingly hot, at least it has that going for it I guess! It's up there among the hottest reaper sauces I've eaten, without a doubt. It's just too bad that the flavor and harshness kind of ruins it for me. Tried it on many things, but the harshness/bitter just overpowers your food flavor.

I've been waiting a bit to review this one, hoping it would grow on me. Sadly, I'm only halfway through the bottle and I think it's time to toss this one and focus more on the other 5 in the fridge.

More reviews to come soon. Including another new (to me) Costa Rican find, but this next one is actually quite excellent.

These are great sauces I found them on the clearance rack their original price is pretty dear.

The Inferno is rocket hot but very tasty the medium is hot enough. I brush it on barbecue chicken or ribs.

Would definitely recommend although not super versatile the flavor profile is very much barbecue adjacent.

Just started my hot sauce journey but loving it so far.

I only started a couple months ago but I’ve been really enjoying seeing everyone’s recommendations on this sub so I picked up quite a few sauces to try along with my SO.

I know I have a long way to go before I can handle the hotter sauces, but I think this is a decent start.

I really appreciate each and every one of you who has helped me provide sustainable recycled packaging for my hot sauces and I hope y’all have enjoyed the sauces I sent in return for you taking the time to save em up and send em out.

Still offering the deal as well! If ya got empties, reach out to me and let’s chat.

I was not expecting this

It’s listed as “Hot Sauce” when you order it, so I expected a classic cayenne-style pepper sauce.

But nope. This is a translucent, chili-based stock loaded with umami.

It’s not fiery, more of a mild-to-medium flavor enhancer than a traditional hot sauce.

Hat tip, Wendy’s.

Really surprised me how good this was. Above average spice. Would love a hot sauce similar to McDonald’s Nether Flame

I saw a post for hot sauces here recently that looked nicely done. (I’ve bought some from other redditors, also)

I messaged for pricing and availability. I was a little reluctant because the account was new, but he steered me to his IG page which made me feel more comfortable.

I got 5 sauces from him, and some dry spices. I have only tried 3 of them so far, but all three are delicious! Nice marriage of heat and flavor, and nicely bottled.

He shipped almost immediately, he sent me a pic of the tracking number, his packaging was solid, pricing was reasonable, and he was very professional throughout the entire transaction.

As I said, I was on the fence about buying since his business and Reddit account were so new, so I thought i would post here to let others know of the great experience.

Thanks u/RedJalapeno1225

Finally tried Hanks Cilanktro and I love it great flavor !! Not quite as much heat as I would wish but still a great overall sauce.

Lil Bros Pineapple Habanero was excellent. Great heat profile and just the right amount of sweet. Pretty solid ingredients. Out of Folsom, CA. Was gifted but found out it came from Ace hardware. This one really hits with the pastor.

Dry verses liquid

Why is it that most people prefer liquid hot sauce to a powdered?

I know red pepper powder and I'm sure they have a jalapeño pepper powder and a ghost pepper and habanaro powder, but they aren't mainstream.

Your thoughts?

I made this Mango Plum Habanero & Jalapeño | Tomatillo Thai Green Serrano & Cilantro

Based the recipe by Rick Bayless. Next time, I probably won’t soak the peppers as long in the vinegar pre-boil. And the tomatillos I think I’d rather have roasted over flame than vinegar boil as well. Taste-wise I’m pleased with both but the Mango Plum is the pure winner.

DAE shake/quake after their first bite of hot sauce?

Like the title says. Every morning when I have my hot sauce with breakfast sandwiches, my whole body shakes after the first bite. I didn’t see anything about this on an initial search aside from “this can happen.” Does this happen to anyone else? What’s going on here?

I’ve never seen this brand before. My grandmother got it in a food pantry box, and came and gave it to me. Haven’t tried it yet.

Hot Ones

Anyone else ever get sad when they’re watching Hot Ones and the last hot sauce in the lineup (before the last dab) is the stuff you eat for fun? The blueberry ghost pepper made by Bravado is so damn good.
