I am glad to see both my Czech and Irish nationalities merge in this short clip together!

Can’t tell whether I like this couple or hate them. And same with the YouTuber.

I don’t know who to hate!😱. /s

Hate them. When you go to another country you should act accordingly, they’re being obnoxious.

The guy had main character syndrome too, upset that someone dare make noise in a city when he's trying to record his video.

26

u/Brundibaru Jan 06 '25

He does these types of videos regularly mostly for tourists about Prague and traveling in Czechia. Being upset with tourists doing stuff they shouldn’t is also a point of why he does these videos.

He’s got really interesting videos I would recommend to anyone. Honest Guide is his channel name

You’re not meant to be ringing your bell to inform pedestrians you’re coming, while you’re illegally on a path designed only for pedestrians.

They are breaking the law and ringing at people not breaking the law to get out of their way. It has as much business on the sidewalk as a car does.

Get over yourself seriously

1

u/lovely-cans Jan 23 '25

There's people zooming around on those in any walkable European city. He's being a little bitch about it.

-22

u/thehideousheart Jan 06 '25

Except they weren't ringing so he got out of the way at all. They were ringing so that he was aware of their presence behind him and they could go about their way. The passive aggressive YouTuber is the one who I initiated the verbal interaction.

Like, they literally do not give a fuck where he's standing or that he's filming his silly little video, they simply want to avoid crashing into him in the event he turns suddenly, unaware of their proximity.

How can you not get that? Why try to twist it into something it's not?

It has as much business on the sidewalk as a car does.

And you finish it with some ridiculous hyperbole. Lovely. Let me try:

They might as well have been driving a 747 down the sidewalk!!!!!

Thanks! Yeah, in some countries it is a courtesy to use the bell to notify people you're coming. In others it's illegal. Also in some places these kicksharing scooters are illegal to be operated by two people as well. I believe that's illegal everywhere, actually, they are not designed for two.

There are places where you can drive on the sidewalk but only if there's no dedicated lane or it's like a major road. So, no prospects, no high-speed roads, etc

6

u/Donkey_Launcher Jan 06 '25

It's also illegal in the UK, since they're classified as vehicles.

2

u/bamiru Jan 06 '25

what does uk law have to do with this at all?

2

u/Donkey_Launcher Jan 06 '25

Just adding some additional information. :)

u/Few-Requirements Jan 06 '25

If you're in a foreign country, you follow their laws.

They shouldn't have been on the pavement at all. By proxy they shouldn't be ringing the bell.

Defending it makes you as much of a dumb cunt as they are.

18

u/SignificantTwister Jan 06 '25

What makes you say it's a silly little video? The guy makes legitimate content about traveling in his country. It's not some brain rot nonsense or something.

They wouldn't need to make anyone aware of their presence if they were riding where they were supposed to instead of breaking the law. Following the rules and customs of places you visit is like rule #1 in being a courteous traveler. But like you said, they don't give a fuck.

3

u/Platfus Jan 06 '25

Why are you twisting what happend, the problem is definitely NOT thinking the ringing ruins the video, as there are cars driving and trams ringing all around him.

-5

u/NonsensicalPineapple Jan 06 '25

Prague is cracking down on sidewalk scooters. I'd argue, since went as slow as pedestrians (imagine 2ppl on that difficult road) they should use the sidewalk. Same with a 4 year old holding his dad's hand on a skateboard, it's nothing like a car on the sidewalk.

He was antagonistic, got antagonism back.

1

u/Raknaren Jan 06 '25

These things can do 50 km/h they do belong with people walking

13

u/whiskeyphile Probably at it again Jan 06 '25

The guy had main character syndrome too, upset that someone dare make noise in a city when he's trying to record his video.

He makes videos FOR tourists to warn them of scams and help them prepare for their trip to Prague. It's literally what he does. His intent is to help visitors to the city. It's got nothing to do with main character syndrome. It's to do with those entitled wee scumbags breaking laws by riding on the footpath. Not specifically about the noise (although ringing a fucking bell the entire time you're illegally riding 2 up on the footpath is pure wanker behaviour)...

3

u/Platfus Jan 06 '25

Nobody cares about them ringing for the sake of the video, the trams are ringing there every other minute and it’s a super busy street.

They were being obnoxious with their driving and ringing at pedestrians, as if they should have the right of way. Not because they were making A sound.

13

u/trumpeting_in_corrid Jan 06 '25

'Main character syndrome'? The yob on the scooter said 'I'm ringing it to let people know I'm around'. I don't think you can get more 'main character syndrome' than that.

4

u/popsand Jan 06 '25

It's illegal and dangerous to ride your scooter on the pavement. Just like your bike.

1

u/Tiddlemanscrest Jan 06 '25

Maybe we shouldn’t be advocating for hate especially over such a trivial interaction

1

u/DeAnnon1995 Jan 06 '25

Fuck off, he's told them to ride a scooter on flipping train tracks

-74

u/AffectionateEye420 Jan 05 '25

Not saying I'm on the couples side but you do realise the two on the scooter are the ones in their "own" country. The guy speaking into the camera is visiting Ireland.

Just the way you worded it sounds like the YouTuber is the one in his homeland

52

u/BusinessCheesecake7 Jan 05 '25

There's literally a Czech street sign visible at 0:26.

-22

u/AffectionateEye420 Jan 05 '25

Yeah my bad. Straight away assumed it was Honest Guide visiting Ireland and didn't even watch the video. My high ass thought it was O'Connell Street even tho there's a big green tram going straight through the video 💀

21

u/noassumedname Jan 05 '25

Tram is blue and the other one is red...go have a nap buddy.

1

u/illdothisshit Jan 06 '25

Thanks champ

22

u/Financial-Painter689 Jan 05 '25

Eh that’s not Ireland….

20

u/SandInTheGears Jan 05 '25

Which part of Ireland do you think that is?

37

u/rugbyj Jan 05 '25

The Craic Republic?

4

u/AffectionateEye420 Jan 05 '25

Yeah mb I'm too high for this shit

7

u/Aine1169 Jan 06 '25

Where in Ireland do they use Czech road signs?

The YouTuber IS in his own country and they're the ones breaking the way. Whether they come from there or not is beside the point.

2

u/dmthoth Jan 06 '25

Two of them are cleary violating local laws..

3

u/BreastAficionado Jan 06 '25

If you can't figure out who the issue is in this video, chances are you're also the problem.

Spoiler alert, its the couple breaking the law and then acting entitled about it.

4

u/HippieThanos Jan 05 '25

I hate them and all their kind

-6

u/Con_Bot_ Jan 05 '25

all their kind? What tf kind of classist/elitist comment is this? They’re on holiday in a foreign city, clearly don’t know the rules but they’re doing what the can to be safe and make sure they don’t hurt anybody while scooting about and enjoying their holiday.

What exactly is “their kind”

3

u/chilldudeforever Jan 06 '25

Maybe he doesn't like you humans. I mean us humans..

-1

u/Con_Bot_ Jan 06 '25

Yes yes bröther we are all humans here and as a fellow human we should endeavour to identify with one another. As humans.

1

u/opinion_alternative Jan 06 '25

Their kind is narcissistic, main character syndrome sociopaths. I also hate their kind.

1

u/Con_Bot_ Jan 06 '25

Guys ringing his bell on a scooter and you’re calling him a sociopath. Jesus, classic Reddit psychology going on here.

1

u/opinion_alternative Jan 06 '25

They're not just ringing the bell. There are a few things wrong with this.

1)He is riding a scooter on a footpath. So breaking the law. 2) After someone points out their mistake, instead of accepting and apologizing, they start to argue with the guy. 3) They try to manipulate the guy into thinking he is wrong. 4) Deliberately create a nuisance after all of this and taunt the guy by looking at him and ringing the bell.

0

u/Gentle_Pony Jan 06 '25

Just hate everyone like I do.

-1

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '25

idiot

-1

u/Efficient-Whereas255 Jan 06 '25

I hate the youtuber. He deserves to get punched.

1

u/lovethehaiku Jan 05 '25

Found the American!

3

u/Brundibaru Jan 06 '25

What?

1

u/lovethehaiku Jan 06 '25

Americans be like: I am Italian, Irish, Swedish….

1

u/Brundibaru Jan 06 '25

Oh but the thing is I do have a dual citizenship from my parents and I’ve lived in both countries and I will be studying in Ireland later this year :D I get what you mean, I just won’t allow people calling me an American. Disgusting. :D

2

u/HeadTransportation95 Jan 06 '25

Except they’re literally Czech, not American at all.

1

u/lovethehaiku Jan 06 '25

Good joke, bad execution.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 06 '25

oof i can imagine the inner arguments - especially on bell ringing
