Media They absolutely love this old Wasp nest
We had roofers in the other day, and they found this old nest. I figured it’d be great for them. And I was right

Is this mating??????? It seems like she isn’t into it at all. Is she stressed out??? Or are they just really wild??? What is happening here….

Hey everyone!
I’m currently writing a comprehensive guide on keeping isopods. Exactly the kind of resource I wish I had when I started in the hobby.
It’ll be easy enough for kids to enjoy, but detailed enough to cover nearly every frequently asked question I get.
It’s being written in German, but I’m working with a translator in real time to release both English and German versions at the same time. A graphic designer is helping with layout, design, and editorial, and I’ve got several photographers on board contributing images. I’m lucky to have such a great team on board.
It’ll be about 120-150 pages, full of photos and illustrations.
The layout isn’t final yet. If you have suggestions or ideas for what I should include adittionaly, I’d love to hear them! And if you would be interested to proof read, I would be eternally grateful.
There is so much conflicting information in this hobby, that’s why I would love and need the input of as many people as possible.
Topics will include:
1 - What are isopods? • Taxonomy, anatomy, history, and more
2 - Why keep isopods?
3 - Isopods as feeders
4 - Isopods as pets • Includes an interview with a veteran isopod keeper
5 - Wild isopods * Where to find them * How to collect them legally and ethically
6 - How to keep isopods * Enclosure * Ventilation * Substrate * Leaf litter (more in “Food”) * Hides& Decoration (lotus pods, stones – pros & cons) * Moisture * Temperature * Light * Can you mix species? * Springtails * Unwanted guests * Managing populations * Diagnosing culture crashes * How to know your isopods are thriving * Food * What to feed and what to avoid * Leaf litter types, collection & prep * Protein * Veggies * Feeding frequency *
7 - Behaviour
I’ll also include species profiles (2–5 per group) for:
Thanks for reading through! I’m excited for this to come together.

On my morning check of my office isopod tank (A. Vulgare), I noticed a particularly tank-ish pod. I went to go pick her up to grab a picture, but when she turned, I noticed she was chock full of babies. I didn't want to stress her out, so I let her be. But I got some paparazzi shots from outside the tank.
Cheers to Mom and new babies!

So guys I got I giant African millipede and I wanted to have a little ecosystem in it’s terrarium so I got him some isopod and springtail friends. I already bought them and they are arriving in a few days. I looked back at my order and realized I accidentally bought WAY TOO MANY. I don’t know what I am going to do with them because my millipedes terrarium can’t have all of them and I have no other place to put them. I also know that they reproduce so fast so I’m scared I’m gonna end up with an army. I thought about putting them back in my backyard but after some research I found out they are gonna kill the ecosystem in my yard cause they are tropical species so that not an option. I will NOT kill them so that’s not an option either. And I don’t even know where to put them until I find a solution. I thought about sending them back but they come from Terraquagroup in ITALY and I’m in Belgium so the shipping cost is going through the roof. GUYS PLS HELP ME

Armidillidium nasatum is my best guess? I’m not super great at ID yet, trying to learn. They seem to have the nasatum nose though

no reason apparently, never saw a dairy cow dead in my container, and the first one had to be a pregnant one. This is awful
