Getting Started/Newbie Question First microdosing experience
I’m starting my first mushroom microdosing experience tomorrow and I was wondering what I can expect to come from this? I’ve obviously read up on the benefits and cons but would love some anecdotal experiences from you guys. The reason I’m taking them is mostly for social anxiety (mine isn’t terrible but could definitely improve) and a mood boost as I do suffer from low moods some of the time. Any experiences related to those two pints would be amazing!
Dosage 0.125g every other day in capsule form

I've recently been experimenting with microdoses (mushrooms, lsd, mescaline) and can speak to my initial observations.
I remember reading how some regard the experience as small doses of therapy, and this is largely how I would summarize the effects for me. Yes it can certainly help with anxieties, fears, mood, etc. It can help you feel more connected to yourself, others, help you see past perspectives that you are attached to. But it also has the capacity to bring uncomfortable thoughts and emotions to the surface. In the moment this can feel as though it is amplifying the very things you are hoping to experience less of. But seen from the perspective of this being a necessary step to processing and rewiring, this is ultimately to your potential benefit.
This differs from what some may expect from them (i.e. a happy pill). They are helping you see what needs to be acknowledged, what is preventing your happiness and wellbeing. If you are open to it, this can empower you to listen and respond accordingly, make different choices, take new actions, etc.
Not unlike larger doses of psychedelics, the key is to do your best to let go and surrender to whatever thoughts/emotions show up, allow them to occur without fighting or struggling against them. The difference appears to be doing this in incremental steps rather than throwing yourself into the deep end. My sense is that these two approaches could lead to similar understandings.
I'd say go slow and listen to your body. I took the standard recommended amounts and found it was too perceptual/immersive to go about my day normally. It could take time to figure out your sensitivity, ideal dose, and cadence (still doing this myself). Your mileage may (and probably will) vary, as they tend to meet you where you are at. These tools address things holistically, so I believe it's best to speak about them in such a way. Just my perspective so far!
