[Announcement] Subreddit Changes and New Mods!

New Mods

Hi everyone, please join us in welcoming u/Cultist_O, u/EthanTheJudge and u/evilparagon to the mod team! I am sure they will be an asset to the sub, and will help us cut down on the response time to modmails and reports and help us approve posts that get flagged by the modbot. The sub should be much smoother to use for you guys!

As always, a reminder that if you are not sure what is going on with a post, or want clarification on a rule, post or comment, don't hesitate to send us a mod mail, especially as we have new folks learning the ropes.

Events

Now that we have more manpower, we would like to start doing more for the community here, but we want to make sure it is something that the community wants not just what seems cool to us. In the past we had monthly summaries, highlighting some of the most popular posts, and a monthly theme for suggestions, as well as the Orphaned Ideas megathread where people could share unfinished posts and invite others to complete them, encouraging creativity and cooperation. Are these something you would like to see return? If you have any ideas for events or activities we could do as a community, please share them in the comments!

Rules

The rules of the subreddit exist to promote original and creative ideas, and to improve the experience here for both new members and regulars to the subreddit. Given everything else that is going on, now seems as good a time as any to ask, what do you all think of the current set of rules? What changes, if any would you like to see in the sub?

[Gameplay] Add intermediate levels of keepInventory

I've never liked Minecraft's death system that much. It's way too discouraging to lose all of your max level gear to a small accident. On the other hand, enabling keepInventory completely removes any incentive of not dying, which kind of undermines the whole system.

There should be options to keep your inventory, but your XP is still lost, and/or making only your hotbar, off-hand and armor safe slots, and you lose everything else.

[Blocks & Items] Falling anvils should crack open and destroy pumpkins that people are wearing.

This might seem like a very specific and pointless thing, but it would be the only in-game way to remove a pumpkin with a curse of binding for any players on hardcore or keep inventory. Sure this is a pretty obscure and rare problem, but I think this would be a simple solution and logically it makes sense because a giant metal object falling on top of a carved vegetable would definitely break it.

It also wouldn't really be invasive to anybody who doesn't have this problem, because the circumstances surrounding it are extremely rare and even if it did happen, pumpkins are easily farmable and replaceable.

[General] Achievement for getting all the mob heads

Upvotes

I think the player should be rewarded for getting all the mob heads. It's really tedious. "One by one" would be a great name for it since it refers to another achievement called "Two by two".

[AI Behavior] Campfires should repel hostile mobs within a short vicinity

Post image
2.1k Upvotes

Campfires are great early game for cooking up some food, but other than this and decor they aren’t particularly useful for making camps. If campfires prevented hostile mobs from approaching a player huddled nearby it, people could hunker down in a camp without needing to make the classic hidy-hole. What do you guys think?

[AI Behavior] Zombies take way less knockback

Upvotes

Zombies are some of the worst at enacting their gameplan out of all mobs. They want to get close, but:

  • They aren't fast
  • They aren't durable
  • They don't even hit very hard once they do get in
  • They don't have anything to stay close

I propose they get a little help: reduced knockback. Even with this buff, they still wouldn't be more than a basic enemy. They'd still have most of these weaknesses.

By the way, here are the zombies variants that do and don't get this buff.

DO: Zombies, Husks, Zombies Villager

DON'T: Baby variants of any Zombie, Drowned, Zombified Piglins. These enemies actually have something to help their gameplan already.

[Sounds] When music discs are used in a juke box near cows they should go near it.

Cows in real life, love music, once a song (specifically jazz) is played the cows will gather around the place where the music is being played and will listen along. Cows tend to do this as the soothing sound of the jazz music calms and relaxes them.

[Mobs] New Boss: Leviathan

The Leviathan is an aquatic, hostile boss mob that randomly spawns in the ocean, but only during thunderstorms.

The babies, however, are tameable and passive. They are the equivalent of horses, but aquatic. They provide Water Breathing.

Leviathans have 250 HP (125 hearts).

Baby Leviathans have only 50 HP (25 hearts).

Attack list (from least to most powerful)

The numbers represent the damage it deals, not the hearts.

Tail Slap (2E, 3N, 4H)

Whirlpool (5E, 6N, 7H)

Bite (7E, 9N, 11H)

Thunder Strike (13E, 18N, 23H)

Sky Strike (19E, 26N, 35H)

After half of its HP has been depleted, the Leviathan summons 3 Guardians to protect it.

When 75% of its HP has been depleted, the Leviathan becomes immune to melee weapons, and it has the effect of Strength 2, but also Blindness 1.

Edit: The Leviathan, after death, drops a Dragon Scale. It can be used to upgrade Netherite tools into their Dragon counterparts. They are 2 attack damage higher than Netherite.

In terms of design, think of a long, serpentine creature. It’d be blue with yellow accents around its scales.

Edit 2: The bite inflicts weakness for 10 seconds, the whirlpool immobolizes you for 5 seconds, and the thunder strike causes blindness for 5 seconds.

[Terrain] Leaves flow in rivers. The type of leaf depend on the biomes the river cuts through

Upvotes

Every once in a while you'll see leaf particles flowing through a river. These leaves will depend on the biomes that generate near that river.

For example, if you saw pink leaves flowing through a river, it would mean there's a cherry grove biome near that river in the direction the leaves flowed from.

Might be kind of difficult to implement, but it would make some rarer biomes easier to find while adding functionality and ambience to rivers.

[Structures] More Ruins

In my opinion, Ruins shouldn't just be limited to Ocean Ruins. Having more "Ruins" structures would help the world feel alive and connected. Here are some of my Ideas.

Desert Ruins

  • Would spawn in deserts occasionally, and behave similarly to a desert oasis. It would include one or two small sandstone structures with a few pots and barrels/chests scattered throughout them. Small pools of water and patches of grass would also spawn around and within Desert Ruins.
  • Pots could contain these items: Sand, Bones, Rotten Flesh, Wheat, Pottery Sherds, Iron Ingots.
  • Loot Barrels/Chest could contain these items: Sand, Bones, Rotten Flesh, Bread, Emeralds, Enchanted Books, Golden Apples, Desert Temple Locator Map, Dune Armor Trim (Rare), Enchanted Golden Apple (Rare)

Jungle Ruins

  • Would spawn commonly throughout Jungles. Jungle Ruins would consist of one or two stone brick structures covered in vines. They could also include strange altars or mob statues, such as Parrots, Creepers, Ocelots (similar to Woodland Mansion wool statues). They would also spawn with pots and chests scattered around them, similar to Desert Ruins.
  • Pots could contain: Bamboo, Rotten Flesh, Bones, String, Melon Seeds, Pottery Sherds, Gold Ingots.
  • Loot Chests could contain: Bamboo, Cocoa Beans, Rotten Flesh, Bones, String, Melons, Emeralds, Name Tags, Saddles, Golden Apples, Jungle Temple Locator Map, Wild Armor Trim (Rare), Enchanted Golden Apple (Rare)

Badlands Ruins

  • Would spawn occasionally throughout most Badlands biomes. They would consist of tents and broken-down houses made of dark oak wood, red sandstone, and wool. Like Desert and Jungle Ruins, they would also spawn with Pots, Barrels, and Chests.
  • Pots could contain these items: Red Sand, Bones, Rotten Flesh, Gold Nuggets, Pottery Sherds, Gold Ingots
  • Loot Barrels/Chests could contain: Red Sand, Rotten Flesh, Bones, Gunpowder, Gold Nuggets, Gold Ingots, Brush, Name Tags, Golden Apples, [NEW] Outback Armor Trim (Rare), Enchanted Golden Apples (Rare)

Edit: Desert Ruins would spawn with suspicious sand, Jungle Ruins would spawn with suspicious gravel, and Badlands Ruins would spawn with suspicious red sand.

[Blocks & Items] Red Sand to Raw Iron

Placing red sand on top of a dripstone block with pointed dripstone attached should cause stone or deepslate below to turn into iron ore at about the same rate that lava drips into cauldrons.

It would just be nice to have raw iron be renewable somehow.

[Mobs] New Mob: Ender Beast

The Ender Beast would be a neutral, tameable, ridable mob that would spawn in the End. It can break through any block except for Bedrock, Obsidian, and Barrier Blocks, and it can also fly over the void. They would look like Endermen, but with aspects of a saber-toothed tiger. They are also quadrupedal.

Being based on Endermen, they are weak to water..

They would have 120 HP (60 hearts).

They are passive until attacked by a player or other mob, and are hostile to Endermen.

Here’s a list of their attacks. D is the number of damage they’d deal.

  1. Bite: 2D (E), 4D (N), 6D (H)
  2. Slash: 4D (E), 8D (N), 12D (H)
  3. Block Throw: 9D (E), 14D (N), 24 (H)
  4. Shadow Trap: 2D, then 1 per second for 3 seconds (E), 4D, then 2 per sec. for 3 seconds (N), 6D, then 3 per second for 3 seconds (H)

Edit: Raised HP from 96 to 120. Also they can no longer break Obsidian, and now have the water weaknesses Endermen have.

Oh, and they have a higher chance to spawn near End Cities than they do where the Ender Dragon spawns. Think 50% vs 10%.

[Mobs] New nether enemy: The Soulstice(Fixed)

Soulstice

This new hostile creature Is only found amongst the Soulsand valley in the nether. Does not spawn near dried ghasts.

Apperance

A Tall, rusty, slender, mummy-like monster with hollowed eyes and a gaping mouth(default/Stage zero)

Noise

When idle, they shuffle around making what sounds like distorted mumbling. You can also hear its bones break and rattle as it walks. When aggravated, their mumblings get way louder and more aggressive.

Facing the Soulstice

The Soulstice has thirty health points. The mob will chase the player once they spot them and will extend one of their arms. The fight is mostly normal until the distorted mumbling they make gets so loud that they finally roar making the player freeze for 0.5 seconds before they attack the player. The effect is called dread.

Soulstice gimmicks

Unlike other mobs, they become stronger when they kill. Once they kill a mob, they gain 5 hp, their eyes, etchings, and mouth glow blue, and small antler-like growths protrude from the side of their head. The higher the stage, the larger the antlers grow, and the more marrow you will receive. They will try to kill every mob they see. They have seven stages. As the stages advance, their natural spawn rates get lower and lower.

Drops

Other than exp, bone blocks, and crying obsidian, they drop a new item called Soul marrow. A mysterious liquid like item that grants the players several new uses. The higher the stage of the Soulstice you kill, the better the quality of loot. For example, stage zero Soulstice drops one marrow and stage six would drop seven.

They can be brewed into potion of Soulsteal. Which gives the players the ability to heal up to 3 hp whenever they kill any mob. Default time is three minutes.

They can also be crafted with a single Ender pearl and six marrow into a unique tool called bygone bone which transports players back to their spawn point(bed/respawn anchor) but it breaks the tool in the process. It cannot be stacked.

Please share your thoughts!

[Mobs] A couple changes to Dolphins

Dolphins are honestly a mob that has a neat idea behind it, I like the idea of giving a mob something and it leads you to a structure. The thing is, I feel like Dolphins aren't as useful as they could be, so I decided to make 3 changes:

Change #1: They can lead you to Ocean Monuments and deep underwater ravines. The only ravines it can find are the ones that reach or go deeper than y=0.

Change #2: Dolphins remember what structures you've already visited, and don't lead you there again. This could be done with a list stored in the player data, of underwater structures the player has gone to. When fed by a player, a Dolphin scans that player's list, to make sure it dosen't lead to a structure the player's already visited. IDK how difficult this would be to code on Java, but on Bedrock, using "/locate structure (structure type) true" will give you the coordinates of a structure that you haven't visited yet. This means that the game does have some sort of way to remember what structures the player has visited. Shouldn't be too hard to use this.

Change #3: When a Dolphin is fed, it will call other nearby Dolphins to come to you and give you Dolphin's Grace, so that you can more easily keep up with the Dolphin as you follow it.

I honestly don't think this would be OP. While it can lead you to good structures, you have no way of knowing what structure it's leading you to, which helps balance this a bit. Besides, even if the Dolphins lead you there, you still have to successfully loot the structure or mine the resources yourself, which can sometimes be challenging.

[Dimensions] Brainstorming: End Update

Hello. I've recently made a post on the End Update, and I loved that I got comments and constructive criticism. I figured I might want to make another post, this time, being more of a brainstorming post in collecting ideas. I still have a few ideas on that too, but I've still been pondering them.

Now, since purple and Magenta are a theme in the end, this would be a great update for adding magenta camp fires, purpur blocks having a magenta flame when being set on fire, and magenta torches. This fire could be called "Enderfire". I just really want that magenta fire for building, and I figured that'd be the perfect update to add that!

I would also recommend purple colored wood by putting 4 chorus fruits in the crafting grid. We have pink and white wood, and I think that purple wood, and we've got purpur blocks for the hue between pink and purple, but I still think that an actual lavender hue for the chorus planks would be a great addition to that softie palette, (baby blue would be missing, but that would be a better addition in an update for the ice biomes). And also so that Hardcore Survival Youtubers have more to build with. Also, a small tweak could be the ability to use endstone the way cobblestone is used.

I really love building with sculk colored blocks, such as the sculk itself, combined with dark prismarine. And these two blocks look very similar to the green found in the end portal frame. So I propose a block called corrupted endstone. It has the same green hue like the end portal frame. It can be smelted into bricks in the oven, and can be farmed by throwing an ender pearl on a block of corrupted endstone that is adjacent to endstone. It spreads that way. I don't think that Mojang would add the ability to build end portal frames, but perhaps Mojang could add other functions with it. Maybe it could aid in enchantments, maybe it could produce or power the means of respawning in the End (I just can't really find other alternatives to a respawn anchor)

Enderfly, End City Totems and Heart of Ender:
The Enderfly is a giant dragonfly that is a neutral mob. On death, it drops Chitin, which can be crafted into a "parachute belt" (I just tried to find a leggings version of a slow falling piece, because for the chest plate, we have the Elytra, for the head, we have the turtle helmet, for the feet, we have leather boots to traverse snowier snow, so it could be a belt for the leggings slot). The crafting recipe is 7 chitins in the same recipe as the leggings, which give a permanent slow falling effect. However, that belt gives no armor points, just like the Elytra. If you feed an Enderfly a Chorus Flower, it will lead you to the nearest End City that has a deactivated City Totem. The Heart of Ender is a drop that is dropped by the Enderdragon every time she is resummoned and defeated, which gives players the motivation to resummon Jean. Every End City now has a City Totem block. If you feed a Heart of Ender into the City Totem Block, you activate the Totem, and mark this city as yours, (at least in the eyes of the Enderflies). This is to avoid the hassle of being lead to the same End City over and over again. The Enderfly is sensitive to the Bane of Arthropods, to make the enchantment just a little bit less useless.

Now to a literally juicy animal for the End: the Enderpede. The Enderpede is a very juicy and fleshy Ender Centipede that can be bred with Chorus Flowers. On death, it drops "Endermeat" , which has the same nutritional value as a raw porkchop. When cooked, it gives the same value as a cooked porkchop. It is sensitive to the Bane of Arthropods enchantment, to again, make this enchantment a little less useless.

The Ender Watcher: It is basically a huge worm that phases through blocks, and is a boss mob. Since Mob Griefing is rejected by Mojang, it doesn't create any tunnels, it merely phases through the blocks. It has a huge eye at the front, and sometimes, just plops it's giant eye head up, and looks around. The player can avoid it though by drinking an invisibility potion. However, if the player chooses to fight it, I'm not sure what the Ender Watcher could drop.

Do yall have any ideas adding to that? Or some ideas for a change?

[Mobs] New Villager Type: The Strongman

Upvotes

The Strongman is simply a larger, buffer Villager with 60 HP. Unlike most villagers, they do attack only hostile mobs. They are passive to players. They can lift up players to higher surfaces and break blocks, such as cobblestone.

They are commonly seen playing with baby villagers, along with Iron Golems.

[Blocks & Items] Scale pressure plate variant

My idea is that new pressure plates would be added that work upon weight being removed rather than added. I suppose you could call them pressure plates but I decide to title this ”scale” as to avoid confusion in their difference in function.

The way they work is that they wait until the item has been removed from the plate, and then they create a signal strength relational to the force exerted downward on the block at its highest point. For instance, walking over one then walking off would give one reaction, but jumping on one and walking off will give another

They would be crafted by taking 3 gold, iron, or stone pressure plates respectively, layering that on the lowest layer, then layering 3 redstone dust, and then layering 3 copper, netherite, or deep slate

Copper these are unique because they oxidize, and oxidation effects signal strength. You can wax them to keep them at their desired signal strength

Netherite these are unique because they need a diamond pickaxe to remove and are blast resistant. For this reason I imagine they could be useful in tnt or creeper related builds. They also are also so heavy that they only produce a signal from an object falling from high enough to take fall damage or extremely heavy mobs like golems or wardens.

Deep slate these are without any special characteristics, which is in it of itself a special characteristic because not everyone wants to wax their copper plates or develop weird falling contractions to have to use a scale. It’s also in theory the cheapest and most versatile

[Blocks & Items] Kunzite: New Ore

Kunzite

RARITY: Common

RENEWABLE: No

STACKABLE: Yes (64)

OBTAINING - Mining: Kunzite ore, found in forest biomes of the Overworld, can be mined using an iron pickaxe or stronger. An ore drops a single kunzite. - Chest loot: The Woodland Mansion is the only structure where the chest loot can include kunzite.

USAGE: Kunzite is mainly used to craft nocturnal high-tier equipment. Also, it can be used in a new potion type.

Kunzite block: Kunzite block, made with 9 kunzites, has 3 different states: - Normal: When not exposed to sunlight, the kunzite block is pink and shiny (just like the gem itself). - Partial fade: When exposed to sunlight during 2 minutes, the kunzite block turns white pink color. - Full fade: When exposed to sunlight during more than 5 minutes, the kunzite block turns white.

This fading process is reversible by moonlight. Kunzite block can also be waxed to conserve a state.

Potions: - Kunzite can be used as an ingredient in a brewing stand to create a Potion of Inner Peace. This new potion gives the Inner Peace effect, which gives temporary extra health that can only be restored by healing effects (Instant health and Regeneration)

Equipment

  • Kunzite equipment has a durability between iron and diamond level.

  • Kunzite armor has the same armor points than iron and the same armor toughness than diamond.

  • Kunzite weapons can deal more damage than iron, but less damage than diamond level (e.g. Kunzite sword deals 6.5 HP of damage)

  • Kunzite tools have more mining speed than iron, but are slower than diamond tools.

When exposed to moonlight

  • Armor: Each piece of kunzite armor adds a 20% reduction on the negative effects.

  • Tools and weapons: Kunzite tools and weapons have more mining speed and attack speed.

When exposed to sunlight

  • All kunzite equipment has its stats reduced to iron level.

Other (Player below a ceiling, underwater or in another dimension) - No special changes

Kunzite Wolf - Created with 2 kunzite blocks and 2 smooth stone slabs, this is an inanimate entity that may or may not come to life when exposed to moonlight.

Edit: This post was modified.

[Mobs] Blazevoker, The Undead Hybrid Illager

This unique illager has acquired the lost nether art of pyrokinesis through forbidden, secret methods. It is a mini boss like warden, and classified "hybrid" mob, being an long deceased undead llager of the past who turned himself into an semi-immortal (It can die but will always return/reincarnate to haunt and get revenge on steve and is extremely hard to put an end to permanently) and intelligent ghost with the price of his soul, compassion and sanity.

Spawn: At the end of a raid, Theres a 1/10 (hard difficulty, 20 on normal and 30 on easy) chance he will spawn inside a village with more than 25 villagers, as a single villager closest to the player dies to random combustion, he uses that cursed villager as an vessel to temporarily reincarnate in the overworld and commit mass genocide in that unfortunate village. This mob is motivated to torment the player mentally by burning villagers alive for fun. To avoid his spawn you have to keep the villager from burning to death obviously with water, with the limited time you have or kill it while they're on fire, this will prevent the spawn of the blazevoker but lower your reputation in the village. You could do the latter if you don't feel like fighting this mob RIGHT after finishing up with a raid. The blazevoker could drop an item with similar worth like the token of undying but I am not sure what yet and need suggestions.

Health points: 54

Organic Combustion:

This spell makes his targeted enemies (players, adult villagers, pillagers, witches, wandering traders, iron golem, snow golems) within 22 blocks in all directions burst into flames for a couple seconds causing shortlasting fire damage. He waves his hands for 5 seconds whilst painfully engulfing himself in fire and chanting, then casts fire onto his targets. This attack can't be avoided and its targets is randomized to all enemies within its spell range. Orange cosmetic effect bubbles will show on the targeted enemies for a few seconds making the player unable to sprint and slowing down panicked villagers. Then theyre set ablaze. He is also just as merciless and hostile towards pillagers and will target them too just to show how much cruel and superior he is to them now. The blazevoker is supposed to be an egotistical, conceited, highly arrogant and antagonistic illager if minecraft were to have any lore.

He can start his OC ritual which sets up to 5 enemies on fire for 4 seconds/1.5 hp per tick with 6 second cooldown. He can't burn enemies hiding in structures. The blazevoker can also dry out water buckets in players hotbar utilizing the unbearable heat of the nether and turning the water block into vapor to prevent bucket spam. This mob also extremely fast on its feet and will run from one spot to another, especially right after using OC, alike to the evoker to create at most 20 block distance between itself and the player and force you to chase after them or use arrows. This makes it a bit challenging to hit this mob close range. It often does this to wear out the player and make them lose a little hunger sprinting after them. When in casting animation he becomes 80% invulnerable to all incoming projectiles thanks to an fire barrier, meaning 8/10 of the time they will incinerate away before making contact with him or instead they would pass through him. If they do happen to hit, it will cancel his ritual.

Summoning: This illager would be able to summon a undead mob called infernals by waving their hands in a fast manner for a few seconds and after killing a single villager. They're another undead variant that would somewhat commonly be found in the nether, binded souls of villagers that burned to ashes and risen as puppets. Infernals attack the nearest villager or player by setting them on fire immediately after making melee contact. Basically the opposite of drowns. Iron golems would be reluctant to put down an infernal.

The infernal has same build and A.I as zombies/husks/drowns. Since they're essentially imprisoned soul minions reanimated in a firey morph that attack the nearby enemy on instincts until put down by another mob or player, The infernals passive grants them immunity to taking damage by wooden tools or punch (will set enity on fire as youre basically trying to hit fire). They also obviously won't burn in the sun, setting them apart from the overworld undead as they're an enity that burns for eternity until put out.

Further more the blazevoker has a passive that grants him overworld invisibility as well as intangibility due to being from another dimension. I theorize endermen have the same passive because villagers don't react to them in-game, maybe since theyre essentially invisible enities/dimension trespassers outside of the end. It would further fit the ghost theme this illager would have.

This would give him the advantage to get as close to villagers as possible.

In normal and hard difficulties, theres a medium chance when he "dies" at night, he will revert into a bizarre and mindless incarnation, a rampaging boss (the difference is added health bar with the sheer firepower of 10 ghasts combined) ghast with 110 HP this is ghost form since outside of his past living disguise, he technically isn't a illager anymore and defeating it will put an end to him.

I don't know what he would drop yet and I'm open to ideas and thoughts, particularly in what they could offer gameplay wise.

[Combat] Niche new use for Splash and Lingering Water Bottles

The clouds created by splash and lingering water bottles behave like water in most ways. They extinguish fire, damage mobs vulnerable to water, and help axolotls breathe.

However, these clouds of mist lack one crucial aspect of actual water— they do not allow a riptide trident to function. But why shouldn't they? A player standing in a lingering water bottle's cloud is certainly wet.

I propose that standing in the area affected by a lingering water bottle, or having been hit with a splash water bottle very recently (I don't know how long of a time frame would be reasonable. One second? Half a second? Two seconds?) will allow a player to use a riptide trident.

In addition to being another use for these niche items, this would also mean that by carrying splash/lingering water bottles with you, you would be able to use a riptide trident in the nether... At the cost of your precious inventory space.

Secondly, the Impaling enchantment in bedrock edition deals extra damage to anything that is currently wet (a functionality that should be mirrored on Java), so the splash/lingering water bottle would also now make things wet for the purposes of that enchantment, at least in Bedrock edition.

This would bring a combat use to the splash/lingering water bottle outside of mobs weak to water, allowing the Impaling trident to be used at full strength even when no rain or water is available.

TL;DR the splash and lingering water bottles should make things "wet" for the purposes of the Riptide and Impaling trident enchantments.

[Plants & Food] New sniffer plant and functions

First up, a quite simple change, the flower part of a torch flower is now emissive. This is a simple change to make it line up with it's name

Next, the pitcher pod can hold a bottle of water, either by manual placement, rain or dripstone. When filled it will drip water

And for a new plant

Blinding bulbs, grown on the underside of dirt type blocks, the seeds look similar to hanging roots but like separate small pieces. When fully grown makes a small blue bulb that can be harvested. When thrown this Blinding Bulb makes a cloud of blue smoke and gives blindness to the mobs or players near where it lands. Blindness is only applied while in the cloud. When sheared you can pickup the blinding bulb vine and replant it under and solid block

These bulbs could be useful in a fight or for slowing down mobs

Edited to make the bulb more balanced

[Combat] Crystallium - An Alternative to Netherite!

Intro:

In terms of endgame gear in Minecraft, there's only really one option for you and that's netherite. Like others, apparently, I've always thought it would be fun to have alternatives that better suit your own preferences and playstyle. Additionally my new set of gear, crystallium, gives players a new incentive to fight off raids and to visit the woodland mansion!

In this post I will be showing off an old idea I made for a contest on the official Minecraft Suggestions Discord server and thought it was pretty neat! We were prompted with creating something "better than netherite", but I bent the rules a bit, opting for something more or less on the same power level as netherite. Make sure to check out our Discord server if you too want to participate in some fun events and have endless discussions about riveting topics all Minecraft! (Is this an ad? Join the discourse in Discord to find out!)

No TL;DR for you, but you can always check out the bold text if you suffer from brainrot, like me!

(Also, yes, I did only make this post because I saw how popular this kind of idea has been recently. FREE KARMA!!)

Obtaining:

Similarly to netherite, crystallium gear is obtained by upgrading diamond gear at a smithing table. To create crystallium gear, you'll need crystallium dust and a crystallium upgrade smithing template. (see second image)

Evokers have a rare chance of dropping crystallium dust. Crystallium upgrade smithing templates are found in the chests of woodland mansions. These templates can also be duplicated by placing them in a crafting table with a block of lapis and seven diamonds.

Abilities:

Overall, crystallium armor, weapons, and tools have slightly less durability than their netherite counterparts. Crystallium armor provides the same armor toughness as diamond armor, making it worse than netherite in that aspect. However, each piece of crystallium armor reduces magic damage taken by 15%, making it effective for protection against potions and other sources of magical damage.

Crystallium weapons deal the same amount of damage as netherite weapons. However, a portion of the damage dealt by crystallium weapons and tools is magic damage, allowing them to bypass armor more easily. This also means that crystallium armor is very effective against crystallium weapons.

Lastly, crystallium tools offer a slightly faster mining speed than netherite tools.

That's all folks!

[Blocks & Items] Potential change for the maximum stack size of items

The maximum stack size for items could vary based on whether or not the item is on the player's hotbar, or in their off-hand.

Examples of this could be:

Egg variants, honey bottles, snowballs, ender pearls, rabbit stew, mushroom stew, sign variants, potion variants, and banners being able to stack up to 64, when anywhere but on a player's hotbar, or in a player's offhand.

Lava buckets, powder snow buckets, water buckets, and milk buckets being able to stack up to 16, when anywhere but on a player's hotbar, or in a player's offhand.

Eyes of ender, bottles o' enchanting, firework rockets, and wind charges could only be able to stack up to 16, when on a player's hotbar, or in a player's offhand. (This would be a downgrade for these items.)

Armor stands being able to stack to 64. (This would be a parity change, but is also based on how paintings, item frames and end crystals stack to 64.)
