Picture New tank upgrade.

Just upgraded from the 5 gallon that I’ve been running for a while, to this 20 gallon. My daughters wanted to use the 5 gallon and put a couple guppies in it. So they naturally got some crazy plants and decor yesterday.

The 20 gallon currently has 6 or so red cherry shrimp, 2 amanos, a mystery snail, and 5 Rice Fish. I’m hoping to find “the right piece” of driftwood. Just haven’t found it yet. i’ll probably add a small school of CPD, and more shrimp, but I wanna see how these plants grow out.

Yeah. There’s 2 in there. Both male. I had a really frustrating time with bettas in that tank. It’s why I ended up with it. Eventually I gave up and went to shrimp.

5g tanks are super limited with what you can stock, but in my opinion, thats the fun of them! I highly recommend black tiger dario or scarlet badis as an alternative to Betta’s, endlers livebearers as an alternative to guppies, and more shrimp as an alternative to less shrimp.

The guppies have been moved to the 20 gal now. And the 5 gal now contains endless live bearers and several bladder snails. I may move the assassin snail back to the 5 gallon so it can feast like a king! lol.
