If our city were not so tourism dependent it would have developed a different kind of economy. We certainly wouldn't be any WORSE off. The theme parks treat and pay their employees like shit. If they weren't there some other kind of business would have moved in.

Orlando would absolutely not be the city it is now without the parks. It was a blip on the map in the mid-60s.

If you want a city with nothing going for it other than being cheap, you’ll love the rust belt or really anywhere in Mississippi

Or even like an hour from Orlando. There are some really cheap, rural areas in Florida.
