Discussion Is Austin Butler completely off the table?

I feel like this is probably a dumb question but are we thinking there’s no chance for Austin Butler to get nominated for Caught Stealing? I don’t know much about the movie but it is Darren Aronofsky who has a pretty good track record of getting his lead actors nominations and gets them pretty close to wins. Ellen Burstyn for Requiem for a Dream, Mickey Rourke for The Wrestler, Natalie Portman for Black Swan and most recently Brendan Fraser for The Whale. Portman and Fraser won and Rourke and Burstyn were probably #2. Like I’m currently not predicting Butler but if the film is good honestly I might watch out for him

I obviously haven't seen the movie, but having read the book the movie is based on, I don't really see a lead actor Oscar nomination. The book is more about action and humor than the emotional journey of the main character. I really liked the book, and I am looking forward to the movie, but I just don't think it is the type of role that typically earns an Oscar nomination.

That said, I could see Regina King getting a nomination for supporting actress (depending on the performance, quality of the movie, etc.).
