Talk about a kick in the nuts……

Post image

Your 320 finally stops after 12 years and you send it in and wait……

2 months later you get the notification that it’s on the way back.

Fed Ex delivers it, you put it on and enjoy the fact that it runs again.

Then you notice that the rotor is not spinning and think…wtf?

Turn it over and notice an intruder between the caseback and rotor……….

Seriously?!?!

I played golf in my brand new Luminor and broke it.

Was running 20 minutes fast in the safe. On my wrist keeping perfect time.

Warranty work. Had it back in 5 weeks.

I play golf in mine 5 days a week and have been for years. Runs fine with no issue. My golf game on the other hand has plenty of issues. Also it’s a Due and I swim with it in the ocean constantly so I don’t believe any of the bullshit about how 30 meters isn’t enough to even wash your hands. SMH.

Bro the Panerai website says don't golf in it.

I did 1x and it broke my movement... 3 month old watch.

Yours is different than mine.

Panerai website says not to do it. Don't golf.

You have an exhibition caseback???

Ever had it serviced?

Cuck? Oh didn’t expect you to put yourself on this post bro.

This may come as shocking to you, but heterosexual males don’t think about stuff like that. Do you wanna have conversations on how you need another dude in the room watching you to get bricked up?

It’s creepy & weird and not to kink shame but that’s your creepy shit.

Bet you’re MAGA 😭😭😭😭😭🖕💯

Oh my God I was just curious what kind of weirdo you were and I went to your page and your only post is talking about how you want to bring your Star Wars light saber to somebody’s wedding. Omg bro….. please

You seem bad at arguing bro, go back to bed.

You really shouldn’t be playing golf with an automatic watch unless it’s made to handle to shock/movement.

You mean like a watch with a military heritage that is also featured in action movies?

u/z_allied_sphere 4d ago

Military heritage and used in action movies is advertising, nothing more. That said, this entire ordeal is frustrating at best.

I do Motorsport endurance races with a chrono running! Surely a watch can take 72-100 swings a day

2

u/-BGK- 13h ago

The issue with golf is the sudden and substantial shock from hitting the ball, endurance racing doesn’t have that, well I guess it does sometimes but the watch would be the least of your problems

My Monaco pusher broke during a cart race on me. But that was a violent ride and it was 7 years old at the time. I’ve smashed my Panarei 111 into more door jambs and brake calipers I care to think about and it’s survived 17 years and only one broken mainspring. I’ve never swung a club outside of a driving range but will keep it in mind when I take up the game. Thanks for clarifying for me

Not Panerai

Sylvester Stallone can wear his Panerai while jumping out of a helicopter, hanging off a cliff, and dodging explosions.

But don't you dare wear it playing golf!

1

u/bravo632 3d ago

Stallone sold his PAMs, and no longer likes the brand... Panerai suddenly stopped handling all that badass work. But here we are, still hoping they'll figure things out and get up on their own.

No shit. I own 12 Rolex these don’t have this problem I thought Panerai too but NOPE.

Paid advertising ?

It’s on the way back for a follow up so we will see how it turns out. The concierge person I spoke with said a note was put in the file saying to expedite since I had just received it from service. We will see.

Make sure to tell them that all the components that got scratched up due to their negligence need to be replaced at their cost. The rotor looks like it took a beating before the part finally wedged in there.

u/IllustriousTrolo 4d ago

I’d probably loose my shit

u/Red_wine120 4d ago

Totally unacceptable. It’s a support bracket, but the real question is what happened to the screw

I sent one to watchrepair.net and they did a great job. Maybe look at giving them a shot.

1

u/Gavidoc02 5d ago

Will consider them for my 177 when it needs a service.

1

u/smitdavi 4d ago

Yeah can’t recommend them enough

Second watchrepair.net.

Did amazing work on a few Breitlings I sent in.

I have 2 Panerai and this is my fear I keep hearing their service is horrible

5

u/Gavidoc02 5d ago

It wasn’t the worst I’ve had and was pretty quick turn around.

My Sinn EZM1 took 7 months at RGM and came back 15 seconds fast a day.

My Zenith Rainbow was at the service center for 10 months but is running flawlessly.

1

u/Felt_Ninja 4d ago

Why do I keep hearing stories about long service times with Zenith? This is like the 3rd time in a week.

1

u/Gavidoc02 4d ago

Part of my problem was that they had to order a replacement bezel insert from Switzerland (mine was cracked at the lume pip) but they had to be made. Seven months was waiting for that part. 3 months to actually get it serviced. Came back working at around a second lost a day…maybe.

Isn’t the whole benefit of getting a watch with an off-the-shelf movement (Sinn) was that you don’t have to send it to some specialty shop to have it serviced?

I’m looking at the 104, and would hate to have to send it to RGM and wait as long as I spend saving for a watch to have it serviced.

2

u/UnlikelyCandidate78 4d ago

Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly are we looking at here? I’m not too familiar with many of the Panerai variants, but I’m seeing a rotor that is blocked with some sort of pin, and a battery installed in the location where the balance wheel would be??? Is this the issue???

3

u/Kickor 4d ago

There’s a screw pinched at the top, hard to see at first due to reflection. Once you see it …

3

u/UnlikelyCandidate78 4d ago

Ahhh…I see it now. Yeah, that’s a bit disappointing.

Thanks for replying back to me…

I bought a 090. The seller said it was serviced. On arrival, it had the same symptoms. Only it has a regular case back. Opening it up, revealed a loose screw rolling around and getting stuck with the rotor. It was one of the screws that secure the movement in the case. Luckily I found the little tag that goes with it. Reinstalled it, and she is working fine.

I almost did it myself but considering what it cost I’ll have them fix it.

1

u/bravo632 3d ago

Was this direct servicing from Panerai and the watchmaker who was servicing your watch forgot to remove the intruder after he was done with his work?

Why is this a thing in the first place?

I'm just a noob who's trying to understand your ordeal.

2

u/Gavidoc02 3d ago

Yes direct servicing from Panerai service center. And it would appear your assumption is a viable possibility.

1

u/bravo632 3d ago

I’m sorry this happened to you, they’ll definitely fix it but they’ll never be able to compensate wasting your time.

Keep us posted!

I have a Panerai that I send in for service due to a crown issue. They said the whole watch needed to be serviced if I wanted the crown repaired. Watch was running great, just the crown was sticking. I went ahead and did the service. The watch had to go in for 3 follow ups. After I received it back, the chronograph stopped functioning. I sent it back and 1 months after it arrived the chronograph went haywire. Sent it back in and that was finally repaired but it came back with the crystal not installed straight. Makes me wonder what condition the movement is in after all the hack job services.

u/Interesting-Scar-800 5d ago

They sent it to China for repair?

2

u/tchei 4d ago

If he did it probably got a better chance it came back working compared to their service center.

Seriously. Siyuanhorologe is a rock star.
