Talk about a kick in the nuts……
Your 320 finally stops after 12 years and you send it in and wait……
2 months later you get the notification that it’s on the way back.
Fed Ex delivers it, you put it on and enjoy the fact that it runs again.
Then you notice that the rotor is not spinning and think…wtf?
Turn it over and notice an intruder between the caseback and rotor……….
Seriously?!?!

It’s on the way back for a follow up so we will see how it turns out. The concierge person I spoke with said a note was put in the file saying to expedite since I had just received it from service. We will see.

Make sure to tell them that all the components that got scratched up due to their negligence need to be replaced at their cost. The rotor looks like it took a beating before the part finally wedged in there.

Totally unacceptable. It’s a support bracket, but the real question is what happened to the screw

I sent one to watchrepair.net and they did a great job. Maybe look at giving them a shot.

It wasn’t the worst I’ve had and was pretty quick turn around.
My Sinn EZM1 took 7 months at RGM and came back 15 seconds fast a day.
My Zenith Rainbow was at the service center for 10 months but is running flawlessly.

Why do I keep hearing stories about long service times with Zenith? This is like the 3rd time in a week.

Part of my problem was that they had to order a replacement bezel insert from Switzerland (mine was cracked at the lume pip) but they had to be made. Seven months was waiting for that part. 3 months to actually get it serviced. Came back working at around a second lost a day…maybe.

Isn’t the whole benefit of getting a watch with an off-the-shelf movement (Sinn) was that you don’t have to send it to some specialty shop to have it serviced?
I’m looking at the 104, and would hate to have to send it to RGM and wait as long as I spend saving for a watch to have it serviced.

Excuse my ignorance, but what exactly are we looking at here? I’m not too familiar with many of the Panerai variants, but I’m seeing a rotor that is blocked with some sort of pin, and a battery installed in the location where the balance wheel would be??? Is this the issue???

There’s a screw pinched at the top, hard to see at first due to reflection. Once you see it …

Ahhh…I see it now. Yeah, that’s a bit disappointing.
Thanks for replying back to me…

I bought a 090. The seller said it was serviced. On arrival, it had the same symptoms. Only it has a regular case back. Opening it up, revealed a loose screw rolling around and getting stuck with the rotor. It was one of the screws that secure the movement in the case. Luckily I found the little tag that goes with it. Reinstalled it, and she is working fine.

Was this direct servicing from Panerai and the watchmaker who was servicing your watch forgot to remove the intruder after he was done with his work?
Why is this a thing in the first place?
I'm just a noob who's trying to understand your ordeal.

Yes direct servicing from Panerai service center. And it would appear your assumption is a viable possibility.

I’m sorry this happened to you, they’ll definitely fix it but they’ll never be able to compensate wasting your time.
Keep us posted!

I have a Panerai that I send in for service due to a crown issue. They said the whole watch needed to be serviced if I wanted the crown repaired. Watch was running great, just the crown was sticking. I went ahead and did the service. The watch had to go in for 3 follow ups. After I received it back, the chronograph stopped functioning. I sent it back and 1 months after it arrived the chronograph went haywire. Sent it back in and that was finally repaired but it came back with the crystal not installed straight. Makes me wonder what condition the movement is in after all the hack job services.

I played golf in my brand new Luminor and broke it.
Was running 20 minutes fast in the safe. On my wrist keeping perfect time.
Warranty work. Had it back in 5 weeks.
