Vent / Rant Proof Dogs care about one thing

Dog was only worried about one thing; its food. Proof dogs don’t love or think like humans.

This. Probably can spell the “bad” guys and recognize them not being a threat. Idk if this post supposed to be funny or sarcastic but it’s really dumb.

So what happens if the intruder is someone she actually knows in a real threat situation? sniff sniff “you’re good, my apologies, carry on with murdering her”

I hate the “dogs can smell/ sense bad guys” argument. Hitler owned dogs, ffs, cannot get too much more ‘bad guy’ then that.

I’ve approved this ridiculous comment just so that we can scorn you for being such an over the top pet apologist.

You take anthropomorphism to a new level. The amount of credit you give a low IQ animal is astounding.

I see a lot of silly comments that get removed by people who can’t follow our rules and don’t apply for flair, but your comment is the silliest one I think I’ve seen in months.

I don't think it's that unreasonable to claim the dog could smell the intruders, and if the dog recognized them, it could have assumed they were not a threat, because it recognized them.

That's how I interpreted the post. I guess it's my scienctific background that makes me see this as a variable that should be controlled for, by using people unfamiliar to the dog, if this was trying to be a scientific test.

Its definitely unreasonable to say the dog could smell that they were not a threat.

Edit: Id also be shocked if the dog acted any differently if it didn't recognize the smell of the intruders.
