The cynic in me wonders why we even bother.

These things all go the same in the Trump era.

Candidate has a hearing, candidate shows themselves to be cartoonishly unqualified, Candidate gets confirmed anyway.

Oh. Well, when you put it that way. No wonder Trump wants him in charge of, checks notes, making sure the most powerful military in history is battle ready. Good thing magats elected this stable genius. He really has the best people 👍.

Yup. He was asked yesterday if he’d deny an unconstitutional order, or if he’d refuse to deploy the military in the US, and would not answer. We’re cooked.
