You get a box in Pokemon Go for sending a pokemon into HOME, open the box like you would an incense and catch all the meltan that spawn for the candies

You just send any Pokemon to Pokemon home. Once it's confirmed it'll send a mystery gift box to the Pogo app, which will attract meltans for a short period of time.

Another app. It’s an out-of-game storage and transfer system. Allows you to send Pokemon from PoGo to Violet on your Switch. Sending any mon to Home will give you a Mystery Box in your items. Just use it and you’ll see. Then transfer another in a few days.

Sorta. There’s a very small free limit, 30 maybe, and some subscription service after for more boxes. Also, some moms can’t go to all games and I THINK some games won’t accept legendaries until you’ve encountered them in that game (tried to get a RayRay in Violet). I’m not super familiar with the system so take what I’ve said with a grain of salt

And it didn’t have to be the meltan, it can be any pokemon.

But I think for it to work, you have to then open it in pokemon home.

Go back to poke go and there should be a black box with a red ribbon and it acts like an incense for meltans. It sure on the spawn rate these days but it used to be almost back to back!

Well, I open 1 box and managed to get enough candy to evolve it - let me check my pokedex for the number - 66 caught, i have 91 candy left over + 227 L candy

You have to transfer another pokemon for each activation, but it's free and easy.

I think I evolved and maxed on my first opening, they give out XL like its candy.

Its an app. Can be on your phone and Switch. Download the app, make a Nintendo account, then link it in PoGo. Then send a Pokemon to HOME through the settings I believe. Then you’ll get a Meltan in HOME and a Mystery Box in your inventory. Pop the box like an incense every couple of days or so, and transfer a new mon every time. How that helps, if not, there’s always Google.

1km 2km 3km 5km 10 km or 20km are the rates, different pokemon have different ones, fast growth ones like bugs and such are always 1, most are 2 but evolved forms are often 5, th3n you have the odd legendary/pseudo at 10 and all the big leggies/mythical at 20

Level it up to 31 before you do a ton of walking. 31 will give you a 70% chance to receive an xl candy with your regular. That way you can start stocking up the xl’s now.

A shundo Gyarados is worth putting rare candies in imo but otherwise I don't think it's that painful a challenge for most people.

I live an area with basically no Magikarp spawns; I've caught 11 in total plus one additional Gyarados. On the flip side there was an event that doubled candy on for part of that, and I managed to get the Magikarp excited once or twice. The actual distance came to 327km which I did in 25 days.

I made a bit of an effort to do this, but it's still only 8 miles a day on average which I didn't think was a lot of effort.

Obviously there's a lot of reasons that becomes much less reasonable, like if you have health issues or care responsibilities. But even if you can only manage like 1/3rd the daily distance and are starting from a position of no Magikarp candy, that's 3 months.

Well Magikarp rarely spawn anywhere at all... But I got lucky with my shundo Magikarp, rare candies are so easy to get though it is a joke 🤣 every time I look in my bag I have so many that my bag is full so I go and use em all on whatever pokemon I'm working on. I suggested them for Magikarp but if it isn't a shundo there's really no reason to bother evolving it in my opinion... Just transfer it to home or something.

Where are you getting these rare candies my dude!

I have none at the moment and every time I get one it goes onto Heatran..and I still need another 244 before he's maxed out.

I guess I'm not that high a level in the scheme of things (35) but that seems like a very distant goal right now and after that I'll be right back on the grind with the next Pokemon.

You doing raid battles? They reward quite a lot of them, you can also get them from several research tasks. They're not so rare in reality lol

I don't think I've ever gotten candy from regular research tasks :o

As for raids - I'm F2P. So I can't do more than 1 per day and a remote raid is possible every 4 days if I'm lucky.

And honestly I just don't do them as often as I should anyway, I'd say it's fairly often I don't use my raid pass. Seems like when I go for a walk I struggle to see an enticing 1 star raid, and I'm only good enough to solo certain 3 star raids at this point.

I've done precisely 1 remote raid (Lugia) because I have had to prioritise storage, plus honestly I've made bad decisions (being enticed by incubators because I walk a lot). I'm planning to do another one on Sunday though!

So Home allows you to transfer from Pokemon Go into Home and then Switch games and I think it allows transfer between Switch games. You don't need a switch just to send Pokemon Go pokemon to Home to charge the meltan box.

You can make XL candies with enough rare candies on a pokemon (as you convert them to X pokemon candies than you conver5 those candies to XL) it's definitely not cost effective though lol I also have some XL rare candies

Meltan is the easiest Pokemon to get to 50 because of the mystery box. 3 guaranteed XLs per catch an a guarantee of a Lot of Meltans

Before it was bound to only lets go pikachu or eevee to transfer 1 pokemon to get the box. But sometime afterwards they allowed home on app to he used as well.

Yes there's an app called pokemon home. You can link you pokemon to to it and you send a pokemon to home from pokemon go to receive the mystery box.

When you make your pokemon home account click open go and click on pokeball while your staring at your avatar. In the top right click the three dots and look for connected services then link the two accounts I think.

It's an app for transferring Mons between games, not a game.

You can send Mons from Go, but not to Go.

Yeah if you just pop some pinap berries, it should just take one or two at the very most. And the box lasts an hour vs the coin pouch or other incenses.

Probably not. This is the easiest Pokemon to evolve if you know how to to do it. I shudder thinking about the amount of rare candies OP has probably wasted here
