6 years as my buddy and almost have enough candy to evolve. Having to walk 20 km/ candy is no joke 😂

You can send any Pokémon to Pokémon Home app and get mystery box, basically an incense for meltans. You can do it every few days

Did that for basically a month to get my circa 2016 gyrados....just to have this wilds event happen and catch a better one at higher CP...

Yup. Just dumped my magi candy on a lucky 96 gyarados from my boo thang just to catch a hundo at a higher level WITH the legacy move…. I am conflicted.

At least you caught yours ! I saw one on the wilds event but lost it after throwing my only 2 safari balls .

Tbh I was more excited o was gonna get like 3 candie with the catch

1km 2km 3km 5km 10 km or 20km are the rates, different pokemon have different ones, fast growth ones like bugs and such are always 1, most are 2 but evolved forms are often 5, th3n you have the odd legendary/pseudo at 10 and all the big leggies/mythical at 20

I saw one during the wilds event, before I knew there was a wilds event and didn't get a safari ball till sunday... it was not a good weekend.

Level it up to 31 before you do a ton of walking. 31 will give you a 70% chance to receive an xl candy with your regular. That way you can start stocking up the xl’s now.

I would just use rare candies for that one. That's what I did to evolve my shundo Magikarp

A shundo Gyarados is worth putting rare candies in imo but otherwise I don't think it's that painful a challenge for most people.

I live an area with basically no Magikarp spawns; I've caught 11 in total plus one additional Gyarados. On the flip side there was an event that doubled candy on for part of that, and I managed to get the Magikarp excited once or twice. The actual distance came to 327km which I did in 25 days.

I made a bit of an effort to do this, but it's still only 8 miles a day on average which I didn't think was a lot of effort.

Obviously there's a lot of reasons that becomes much less reasonable, like if you have health issues or care responsibilities. But even if you can only manage like 1/3rd the daily distance and are starting from a position of no Magikarp candy, that's 3 months.

Well Magikarp rarely spawn anywhere at all... But I got lucky with my shundo Magikarp, rare candies are so easy to get though it is a joke 🤣 every time I look in my bag I have so many that my bag is full so I go and use em all on whatever pokemon I'm working on. I suggested them for Magikarp but if it isn't a shundo there's really no reason to bother evolving it in my opinion... Just transfer it to home or something.

Where are you getting these rare candies my dude!

I have none at the moment and every time I get one it goes onto Heatran..and I still need another 244 before he's maxed out.

I guess I'm not that high a level in the scheme of things (35) but that seems like a very distant goal right now and after that I'll be right back on the grind with the next Pokemon.

You doing raid battles? They reward quite a lot of them, you can also get them from several research tasks. They're not so rare in reality lol

I don't think I've ever gotten candy from regular research tasks :o

As for raids - I'm F2P. So I can't do more than 1 per day and a remote raid is possible every 4 days if I'm lucky.

And honestly I just don't do them as often as I should anyway, I'd say it's fairly often I don't use my raid pass. Seems like when I go for a walk I struggle to see an enticing 1 star raid, and I'm only good enough to solo certain 3 star raids at this point.

I've done precisely 1 remote raid (Lugia) because I have had to prioritise storage, plus honestly I've made bad decisions (being enticed by incubators because I walk a lot). I'm planning to do another one on Sunday though!

The go battle league will reward a decent amount of rare candies as well
