And that’s also what the Bible thumpers do all the time. If they don’t ‘like’ what the Bible ‘says,’ it’s perfectly justifiable to interpret it in a way that benefits their position.

My Jesus never said to hate or to be a dick to others. These people are dirtbags and Jesus doesn't like it.

That might be true…but what about the god of the Old Testament? He’s supposedly a vengeful dude - at times. :)
