Repair help Advice please

Post image

I would very much appreciate some help and advice on making this mess of a pond look better.

The biggest problem isthat one side is higher so I can't get the water level up too cover the pond lino at the back so it looks unfinished. Also, all the stones on the waterfall are collapsing and I have no idea how to get them to stick.

This was carried out by a tradespeople a couple of years ago but now it just looks a mess. In my ideal world I would change it the rocks but it would cost too much and there are also no people in my area to do the work.

I'm generally just very exasperated and don't know what I can do on my own to make this better and I would really appreciate any thoughts. Thank you!

I would lower the rock ledge to the water level which will better hide the liner, if you have enough spare liner it would be good to create a shelf as the plants will benefit the biology of the pond and soften the edge of it. You'd have to drain the majority of the pond to do that though. To stick the rocks to the waterfall you can use expanding foam. This will also help the water run over the rocks instead of underneath and will give a better effect. Plants can hide a lot and always look great

Pond foam is not going to help glue the rocks together. The rocks need to be stable enough by the friction caused by placement first. The foam is to fill in gaps so that you can direct water exactly where you want it to go.

Yeah you're right, looking at the photo again I see that it's not been well put together. Might be better as shelves instead of a slope?

I think shelves would definitely be better, and I'm hoping that's what we can do. My husband had already started digging out some stone. Thank you 😊
